I had a pet monkey once and took him to the bar with me. We had a few beers and we're having a great time when all of a sudden he walked over to the pool table picked up the eight ball popped it in his mouth and swallowed it. Everybody was pissed and they threw us out.
I went back about six months later and they let us in but wouldn't give my monkey any beers. But they did bring him over a bowl of grapes. He picked one bent over and stuck it right up his ass and then ate it. Everyone was really grossed out and asked WTF. I had to tell them that since the eight ball incident he measures everything he eats.

Dude I think your doing something wrong loosen it up and turn the spool the opposite way to get it going then just turn the knob 1/4 of a turn to tighten . Don't do it the other way . Tighter to loose

I use 4 ,LB mono for panfish and change it often. Not a big fan of braid unless I am in salt water

I live and fish NJ. It is different then anywhere else. The fish are small you have to throw smaller stuff. The Curly tail grubs some of these guys have told you to use are right on. Just go small jig head 1/16 or 1/8 oz or go marabu or buck tail if you can find some.
Rinse them after every use.

I use the bottom half if the rod . I hold the line right below the first eye and reel it on. I have my kid hold the spool with a pencil. She knows just what to do
