My line doesn’t come out easily even if the drag is at the lowest setting
My line doesn’t come out easily even if the drag is at the lowest setting, I’ve literally used this rod only 4/5 times and have washed it after every session. I took apart the whole thing, washed and re-oiled it, but it’s still screwed up. Please help :/

Its possible there is a drag or spool issue? The drag washers could be stuck together, I would start there by taking them out of the spool and put some manufacturer's recommended lube on them. And see if that helps. Or take it back where u got it, is that a Ugly Stik combo? If yes the store should have no issues dealing it out.

Thanks for the reply. I already took apart the washers and cleaned each one and lubed. It’s the Penn fierce II combo. I got it from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Do you think they would be able to fix it there?

I dont think THEY could fix it? But Penn is part of a group of rods and reels PURE FISHING owns. That is why I asked if it was a ugly stik they own those also. But anyway, I have sold tackle for 31 years and That group always allows freedom to dealers to use their discretion on returns , Pure always credits the Retailers for returns so dont let them tell u they cannot exchange it for u.

So should I contact Pure fishing to get an exchange or try Dicks?

I would try Dicks first, you should not have to do it yourself?

Check the braided line weight, looks a little heavy for that reel. 20-30lb braid should have you casting a long way...

This is a long shot and probably would not fix your problem. However, it looks like your line is pretty deep in the barrel. Try removing all the line and taping the barrel with some electrical tape first then re-spool your line back onto the barrel. It should be just under the lip of the barrel (so it doesn't all slip out). This will help you cast father and may cause less unnecessary drag from the line coming off the spool.
A pro Canadian Muskie angler taught me to do this and I can now cast much further than before and also noticed my drag tensioning was a bit more controlled

Dude I think your doing something wrong loosen it up and turn the spool the opposite way to get it going then just turn the knob 1/4 of a turn to tighten . Don't do it the other way . Tighter to loose
Sounds like a drag problem.
Line is probably too heavy.
It will also help to fill the spool.
Your line looks like it is coated with something. Before trying anything else, I would replace the line with a name brand one in a weight of 15 to 20 lb test.
Just have to ask, how does it cast with more weight in the lure.

Dicks won't fixit...they will not have a clue!!
May be a stupid question but are you opening the bail before casting? Drag setting has nothing to do with casting a spinning reel since the bail is open during the cast...Also, line should be loaded to about 1/16 to 1/8 inch from lip of spool...
