Try a sibiki rig. 3 hooks with a wing for attractor. Works well in Great Lakes.
The walleye are hitting on Lake Erie. Trolling 325 back on wire line. Dipsey 165 back on 3 setting. Worm harnesses best.
Walleye are coming in schools. One day done in 3 hours other days 8 hours.
I charter in Conneaut Ohio.
Have to just watch the wind / wave reports to get out. The hot line ussaully a day or two behind.
Pa , Walnut Creek ramp, now has the school in front of them.
Like the price. I use BANG garlic. To scent the live bait.
Fish , watch tv ect, ect. How much exercise does one really need. How sore are you when you get home from a day on the bank or in a boat , Fishing ,compared to the same time doing inactivity.? I know I am sore after fishing.

Opening day in southeastern pa delayed to April 18. Mentor day is April 11. Most of the lakes are stocked for the year. Why , I do not know. There are lakes you may fish now but must throw back. Look on pa fish web site. Bait stores are closed. Back to old time velveta cheese , corn and digging worms. Spoons and jigs.
You can try floating line ,with tip-it 2 lb line ,on your spinning reel and use anything that fly fishing persons use.
Perch are eating mayflies and invertabres. Minies are 20% of their diet now. Walleye account for 2% for eating perch. Perch are scattered because of the abundance of food. Walleye scare the perch. This according to the odnr report.
On target walleye in email.
1. End of September-ish.
Check how scattered the fish are this time of year:
2. November-ish.
Start makin' the push back towards the western basin:
3. January-ish.
Erie doesn't always get fishable ice, but here's how congregated the fish get when the rest of us are in the heart of the ice season:
4. End of February-ish.
Get absolutely STACKED up when the rest of us are hitting the late-ice bite:
Makes me think I need to focus waaaay more on hittin' staging areas -- closer to where they spawn -- during the tail-end of the ice season.
I could not find the map but this is how they run.
I captain off Conneaut Ohio.
Western basin starting shortly.
Then they move toward pa
Have a map of migration somewhere. Have to find it.
The walleye run has not started yet.
The weather pattern is running about 3 weeks early. Soon soon soon.

Basic fishing has not been lost. Still can just use a bobber, worm or minies on a pole. Just like the Andy griffin ,Mayberry rfd Show.
