I have mentioned soaking Artificial as well as Natural Bait in Oyster Juice. Pisses buddies off when you catch bigger fish. They always seem to love eating them though.

. I totally forgot about another thing I just found in my Medicine Cabinet that has also served the Serving Table at Fish Camp many times.

It’s inexpensive and readily available. Even at Dollar Tree which is so so quality but it’s really still just a Good United States 🇺🇸 Almighty 1 Dollar Bill each.

Fish oil. It’s in a gel cap. But it’s Fish Oil. Good to attract all species of fish.

Okay, I’ll bite as I was told to take that for years by one Doc, now others say don’t. Not sure what to do anymore.
Regarding the fishing, do you dissolve them in water, or just pierce them and squeeze out the juice onto the bait or lure?
I was going to ask how you get the fish to take them, but it is too early to be silly 😜
Seriously though, what is the plan?

Not a bad idea what do you do just poke a hole in the end and squeeze it on?

Do they float? Might be better than powerbait.

Yes just rip the outer coating to get the oil. You will smell fish immediately. Fish oil is a good thing for your heart. The only hazard of eating a lot of fish or fish oil is Mercury...the heavy metal like old thermometers electrical trunk and hood switches and Mining was many of the uses of yesteryear. It is dissolved into many waterbodies and definitely the Oceans so fish end up with it no matter what. It is found in human hair if one eats a lot of fish.

I just know if you want some good fish scent it works. It keeps in the bottles and capsules too. Doesn't leak and get everywhere.

You can buy 250 300 mg pills of fish oil for about 17.00 cheapest I could find on amazon now do I just put the hook thru it cast it and the liquid will seep out could you wrap it up in power bait and still be effective this is for trout fishing in a lake or just fishing a deep hole on a river/creek

Since the shell is water soluble, I think I will try to puncture one and drip the oil onto the bait and try it that way. It ought to create a scent column. I think a little will go a long way.

Dollar Tree is 1 dollar for 30. You can get it at most any Pharmacy its just dissolved fish. It is same as catching fish and adding a strip of fresh fish as bait. OIL will immediately try to float away from bait. if bait gets to bottom there will be a bait trail...(scent). if its suspended in then the oil will try to float above it. in a current the scent will drift downstream. I use it for targeting Trout... Small M Bass. Lg M Bass... Catfish. Sturgeon. All species of fish will react to a scent of fish if hungry. Carp should be fed to Crab in crab pots.

Its effective. My other inexpensive bait scent is Oyster juice its even more effective. Sardine can is good too. Some rivers never have oily fishy scent....so when you add something like what I am suggesting you may be very surprised what puts your old fishing line that may of needed replaced a season or two ago to the test. I use some basic Redneck Engenuity in my fishing adventures. Fish are very scent and stress oriented. Offer some good Breakfast Lunch Dinner or Midnight Snack to them before they are spooked and you will be happy with the results.

Good tips, thanks. I was thinking of putting some drops on a maribou jig, or a hair jig and maybe some inside a tube as these may hold the scent a bit longer?

You've mentioned oyster juice before on here, what kind of oysters? Smoked? Or just plain old canned oysters?
