Welcome to the Forum, Tiny. Good Luck!
Small jigs, fat head minnows. Find the right depth and bottom fish or jig .
I'll be trying that. Hoping the fishing is good, we didn't bring a lot of groceries (other than adult beverages.
Tiny581: I know nothing about "yellow" perch. But if they are tuely perch, take some earth worms. Perch love earth worms and minnows. If you have both, you are almost certain to catch some if you find them. Just Sayin...RJS
Worms and small minnows fished close to the bottom. Slip bobbers can help you to find the right depth. Good luck!
Mighty tasty when you find them.
Good Advice, better and more details. Just Sayin...RJS

I seem to catch more perch when I’m fishing for something else. They do like night crawlers for sure.
Yep, and I'll bet Earth worms, unless you consider them the same night crawlers. Just Sayin....RJS

I enjoy fishing yellow perch. In Minnesota the limit is 20 and I think they are the best tasting fish in this part of the country.
I use a 1/16th oz jig tipped with a fathead minnow. Make sure you hook the minnow thru the mouth and gills then back thru the stomach. Perch are famous for stripping your bait clean. I always fish right off the bottom...like 2-3 inches from bottom.
Good luck

Use your sonar to help pick them up. They usually show up as a short straight line near the bottom

Here in Idaho we use small tube jigs with a small piece of worm on it. Let it settle to the bottom and then slow retrieve. About 2 feet behind a split shot sinker. Night crawlers work well sitting on the bottom. Our perch are on the bottom.
Try a sibiki rig. 3 hooks with a wing for attractor. Works well in Great Lakes.
