I originally did a poll trying to find the most experienced and overall experience of our stage members. I feel like every year you’ve been into fishing is a year of experience. You may not get out as much as you hoped but you read and watch and continue to grow your skills.
This poll is different, I’m looking for actual days a year with a line in the water? Poll is asking for how many days you fished last year as well as how many on average you’ve fished lifetime.
My answers would be 40 times last year and and 15 times a year on average for the other last 25 years I’ve been fishing. When I was a kid I fished 80-100 days a year easy. Most summer days I fished morning then played baseball and then fished the evening.
Look forward to all of your answers I will compile the data and post results after a couple weeks.

Wow Grizz you really do spend all your time helping others!! Need to get a line wet more this year for sure. I’ve heard time spent fishing doesn’t count towards your allotted time here on earth!
Life time how many days a year do you think you’ve averaged?

There you go Cam! What do you think your average times a year lifetime was? A guess is fine.

Since there was some dry years I'll go out on a limb and guess an average of 20 or so
My fishing was severely limited in 2021, due to having two knee replacements with long rehabs. I only fished 6 times all year. As a kid I would guess I fished about 30 times a year. As an adult, my fishing has varied a lot from year to year, but overall would probably average around 20 times a year, since I never fish in the winter for 3-4 months. As a business owner for 39 years, work became a higher priority more often than it should have….. Not a good excuse, I know now.
J those that live on the water should have higher totals. My NC time for the retirement years was well over 100 - 150 days each year.
Now that i am inland and away from the convenience of stepping out whenever i wanted, last year 20 times at the most.
As for life time it would have only been the last 5 years.

Well, J, that is a tough one. I grew up alongside of the North Branch of the Whitewater River, one of the best trout fishing rivers in MN. I fished almost every day during the season, the first Sat. in May, until Sept. 15. And, occausionally out of season, but not too much. Now the season is from Jan. 1st, until Oct. 15, with the C & R season. Up until Marion got lung cancer I would fish about 5 times a week. Last year, I spent 4 days up at the LOTWs and 4 trips to the Miss. River. No trout fishing at all. I can't ever remember when that happening. Hopefully, that will change this Spring/Summer /Fall. I has always wanted to do some crappie fishing, and I intend to do that this year. So, I could use some help, I have never gone out with the crappie being my target. I could even catch a sunny or two. I have targeted sunnies with the fly rod and that was fun. I think I could do that again. I intend to go after some crappies and and a bass or two with ol' fly rod. We'll see what happens then. Big ideas.

Well J, last year probably 30 days. Average over last 10yrs probably 25. The 15 yrs I had a boat in the salt probably 40per year. Several multi year stretches I didn't fish, so for the 60yrs or so that I've been fishing, I probably averaged 10 or 15 days per year.

Life time how many da ys a year do you think you’ve averaged?
Avg that way at least 50./60 I lived 100 yds from a river for a couple yrs had a big pond in my backyard for a couple yrs. While at those two locations it was almost every day. Since covid I've lost time. Hope to make up for it this yr
Wow J. You really know how to get a guy thinking. I would say last year was between 35 to 40. Some years were pretty lean when I was working 6 days a week. I would have to say on average 15 days a year for 62 years
35 last year. Average 20. Cool study J

Heck J the two yrs before that was only 3 times ea.Been sitting here trying to rethink avg. For Many yrs I was close to water so I fished alot. For the yrs I was fishing tournaments it was usually twice wk. Cold weather if no ice usually twice a month. 24 yrs with the county my section had the Potomac river several good trout streams n stocked ponds. Always had gear with me. Have club pond 10 mins away. I can use shooting range n fish the pond both. This yr I hope to get 30/ 40. I'll keep count 👍👍

Since I've retired I fish maybe once every 8-10 days but only for about 7 months out of the year. So that would be 24 time plus 5 or 6 times when we are on vacation. So 30 time but I also take my grand kids out several times but I don't really fish on those trips.
