The larger motor might run quieter and more fuel efficient since you’re not pushing it so hard to maintain cruising speed. Are they both four strokes?
It can get pretty jarring out there. If you can tolerate a spongy mat on the deck, that can help. Cheap.
Huntm22, I bought 20 boxes of laminate flooring from a big box store, noticed some were a little lighter than others while loading up in the parking lot, cut open all boxes and found 5 with scrap wood filler still factory sealed from overseas.
Hey, this busted rod thing. Sucks. In a tight spot, really tight, couldn’t you slip a repair sleeve over the two ends? Glue it up. Get you through the day.
Looks like a good spot to fish for manatees. Hw do you cut them up? Do you fillet them or what? I’m pretty sure I’d want to skin em first.
Maybe you have some local parks with some lakes to check out?
Yeah, there’s a lot of people on this site that could get that motor right. It’s just a matter of getting their attention with the right header. Start a new topic titled, “boat motor not charging”, or something to that effect. You’ll be back on the water sending us your fishing pics faster than you might believe.
Kresimir, a quick trip north at some point to the Fort Pierce jetty should get you hooked up. Live shrimp, frozen shrimp, sand fleas and Fishbites will get you started. Bait shops will set you up. Try and catch tide change at the inlet. Fish coming and going. Some setting up ambush for baitfish being swept out.
Randy56 - How long has that red tide been a problem this time? An annual event? I experienced it a few years back and the smell would run us off the beach and mess with our heads. My head was messed up enough already. Left early.
LED Lenser. Adjustable beam size, adjustable brightness, (you don’t always want full strength), and three triple a batteries.
You should have output terminals on your ‘alternator’ charging your battery. Could check for voltage there.
Where are you fishing? Are you tipping the capt. and the mate separately?
Silicone sounds like it could save the day. If your confident about something to screw to, you might screw a treated board down, then screw your battery hold down to that.
The area you’re talking about should mirror the other side of the boat, right?
Needle nose for sure. Clean em up, especially after salt water. Crushing your hook’s barb might make it easier for you. And I’ve not tried the grippers, but I bet they help.
You might be surprised what you can do for yourself. You Tube can teach you a lot. You might find somebody else to do your work for you, but how long is his backlog?
Keep a variety set on hand. A divider box to cover all your needs. I hear ceramic may be the best but I’m not entered in the 100k salt water tournament. I just need something better than what I just broke.
Are you surf fishing? Using a boat? Been there long? How much of a drive to the coast?
