Am going to Stewart for the next 3 months, what and how can I catch fish in the surf?
No idea, I live in California, I don't even know where Stewart is. Plenty of folks on here from Florida, I'm sure you're going to hear from some of them. Good luck. Post some pictures.
Hi Kresimir
I fish in Vero beach some times (a little north of Stewart) and often catch Whiting, Sheepshead, blue fish, spanish mackeral, drum ,pompano and catfish from the beach. Once the temps go up a little I usually get some Snook and Tarpon.

You can use a spoon for Blue Fish and a smaller & faster jig for Spanish Mackerel and always a chance for a snook, Tarpon or even a Bonito if there is a lot of bait fish near the beach. You can try throwing out a Snapper rig (2 circle hooks and a variety of weights) for Pompano with a small piece of fresh shrimp tagged with a small piece of fish bites. The shrimp is a better attractant but the Fish Bites stay on the hook. You can still catch Blue Fish, Croaker or Whiting with the Snapper rig.
There is a lot of wind around in the winter so you will have to pick your days.
Fishing is best at first light but I've had good luck with Pompano late in the day.
Good luck.
Kresimir, a quick trip north at some point to the Fort Pierce jetty should get you hooked up. Live shrimp, frozen shrimp, sand fleas and Fishbites will get you started. Bait shops will set you up. Try and catch tide change at the inlet. Fish coming and going. Some setting up ambush for baitfish being swept out.
Are you going to Stuart? Lrt mr know
I can help you.
Thanks for the info! Kresimir
