they are still out there, and called daredevils, familiar red and white stripe. try bass pro shop .com, they carry everything, by the way great lure.
snapp are no good for bass fishing, or other. they ruin the action of lures. i do use barrel swivels . cuts down on line twist, but the smallest one you can.

while in Maine in august 1995 i think,i landed the biggest bass of my life on sluggo golden shiner lure at 3.10 pm with slight drizzle, i thought i was snagged till line started to move, rush back to cottage put fish in big cooler. took fish out and weighed it........it weighed 10Lbs.25 oz. put it back called wild life not a record but till that date was 3 rd from record. fish was thought to about 20/25 yo or more. they take a long time to get that big up north.all i could say at the time was oh my god i have a whale!!! by the way i released it back into the lake
if you don,t get snagged you in the wrong spot, try keeping your lure moving and bounce it, sometime it helps snags but also gets hits
good rod, not one i would for a long day on the water, some of them are heavy and tire you out(use to fish bass tournaments), stopped buyin and went falcon rods, and quantum reels
it replaces rope for holding fish, they are called fish stringers. open the end and slide thru mouth and and gill and be careful not hurt fish, i used them but after a few times i felt i was tortureing the fish and practiced catch release except for trout which went into livewell
14' boat sounds good best to fish with only 2 people in boat, liveweel not neede unless you want to keep fish, my self i used an 8' basspro pond master with my friend had no problems, rivers and small lakes had a blast.only had 30#thrust ,next time will get 40.55 #thrust
if shore fishing be very quite, fish can feel vibration thru the ground, you don,t get a bite in 20/30 minutes move and repeat, remember QUITE
