Last couple trips I’ve taken I’ve lost a few lures to hazards in the water. Is there a way to un-snag them efficiently?

Quit fishing. lol. They do make retrieving devices if your in a boat. If you’re fishing from shore and fishing deep or on the bottom, you’re gonna lose some

Fishing in a kayak I usually try to get on the other side from where I cast from and many times you can free it. I'm always casting to the shoreline so find myself in bushes a lot. But can normally paddle to shore and get it out.

Usually works if you remove hooks before casting or use 1/2 inch braided line and you can often pull up whatever you're snagged on.

A sliding lure retriever or give Flipper a call.

You can try switching to worms and other soft plastics with weedless hooks. These baits do not hurt your wallet as bad as lures. Good luck

The best way I found is to keep it out of the water. Works for me.

Are you fishing with a bobber? From boat or shore? What size lure?

if you don,t get snagged you in the wrong spot, try keeping your lure moving and bounce it, sometime it helps snags but also gets hits

Switch out treble hooks for inline single hooks.

Losing lures is part of the game. Lol. There are a few things you can do to ease your pain. 1) Find a lure that fits in your budget that works, but you won’t cry if you lose it . 2 ) buy shorter shank hooks that are closer to the lure body . This just might allow you that fraction of an inch gap that keeps you from snagging. 3 ) buy a lure retriever, and learn to use it. These are usually called a knocker, because it slides down your main line and bumps your lure at the snag, jarring it loose or, gets tangled in the lure hooks and you pull the whole mess back to you. . 4) learn the “ string pluck “ method. I’m not exactly sure how that one works, but you tighten you line ( tied to the snagged lure) and pluck the line with your finger. I believe the object is to cause a vibration down to the lure to hopefully pop it loose.....My 2cents.

One old timer that I used to know, would take a heavy set of keys and when he got the key ring attached to the line he would let it fly down to the stuck lure. The weight of the keys usually knock out the stuck lure.
If that doesn't work he would use a whipping motion. He never did lose those keys.
