Found a vintage Penn Peer # 209 Bait caster at a swap meet today Anybody had any experience(good/bad) with this reel ? On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate it's condition about an 8. Anybody have an idea what its worth? Has new 30 lb test line Original owner is asking $50.00 for it
Hello everyone. Video Bob back after a couple of months of much needed R & R. Headed south for the Carolinas in a couple of weeks for some continued R & R & to do some fishing on Lake Gaston & am long over due on up-dating my fresh water reels. Any suggestion in the $100 to $150 price range would be appreciated. Does Walmart have anything worth looking at ???

I to am from Norfolk (Ocean View area) & a bank fisherman. Wife & I have had a lot of luck at Chicks Beach (under the toll rd). Smith & Asalia Lake's also offer some great fishing & Chesapeake should be stocking their lake with rainbows in the next couple of weeks. Message me your contact info & I'll let you know about a few other out of the way places we go hit Video Bob
Wife & I been fshing Chic's Beach & Lake Smith since she got off work at 6:00. Caught a nice channal cat right off with my 'bank buddy Buddy" but wifes in the lead with 2 & a HALF bass & a "half" bass (thanks to a snapper) turtle
If they continue hitting like they've been we may make this an all niter.

There are several city lakes here in Norfolk that you can fish (legally) after they close. The only drawback is you have to park outside the gate & walk/carry you tackle in. Lake Smith is one of several that my wife & I like to fish all nite. PM me your contact info so we can get together & do an all nighter some weekend
Forgot to mention that I also live in Norfolk

Thanks for reviving the memories table rock bass. Did a lot of fishing from those paddle wheel boats at Roaring river in the late 60's, early 70's. In 72 (my last trip there) I caught what the park rangers thought was a record or near record large mouth bass which they had mounted & hung in the bait store for several years.
For some guaranteed trout, fish the "Old Mill" water fall in Pigeon Forge & don't try it without a trout tag because they will get you. A 3 day trout tag runs $45.00 for catch/release or $50 to keep what you catch
Well said & TO THE POINT SPIRIT
Randrva,
Seeing how your going to be here for a month we need to get together so I can take you out to Chic's where we catch some nice bass & cats. If we get skunked at Chic's I''ve got about a dozen nice cats in my back yard pond that will solve that problem. lol. Pm me your contact info & I'll give you mind

You didn't day if you were salt or freshwater fishing. I live on Little Creek in Oceon view. My wife & I have had our best luck fishing Chicks Beach & Smith Lake which is fresh water
Wife & I pass no less than 6 "street corner jockys" in the one-mile drive to our jobs every morning. Can't count how many times we''ve offered them a job & heard enough stories of why their jobless we could write a book. For those that turn down our work offer's we now let them know that there is a "cure" for the "Lazy-itus they all have. It's called a JOB.
The comments we get back from them would most probably put me in the attic.
OOP'S
Accidently hit the send before I finished my letter.
Took me a year to make my car legal to where it could be tagged & registered in the state of Pa. after which I joined the Army & never returned to the Keystone State until the late 90's.
Had it not been for a dear departed Aunt & my stint in the U. S. Army (who introduced me to the real world) I probably wouldn't have made it to be 86 years old. Thanks to the Good Lord & them for steering me in the rite direction many years ago I was able to excel on building , racing & showing classic cars for the last 60 + years
In 1948 I bought a 1936 ford 3 window from my neighbor for $120.00. Took on a xtra paper route & paid him $5.00 a week until I got it paid for. Always wanted a "Hot Rod" so with help from some "gear head" friends spent 2 years building it into what at that time was probably the fastest & most illegal car on the road in south central Pa. With no inspection sticker & driving with a learner's permit we would wait until midnite to take the "Black Widow" out & would race anybody/anything that pulled up behind or alongside us, including the Police. Was the only one in York & Adam's county in the 51 & 52 that had a standing account with the city where I made weekly payments on the tickets I got. On the last citation I received in 1953, don't know if it was a set up or a stroke of luck on their part. After a nite of the usual ing & hell raising, we headed across town towards home. Eroute 2 black & whites (51 Fords) pulled in behind us from side roads. Still high on the nites activities & knowing we could & had out run them numerous times in the past we floored it & lost them in the dark. When we got to our escape route 8 - 10 miles down the road we found it blocked by two Pa State Police cars. After tearing up my temporary drivers permit & spending "boo coo" time writing my ticket car
