Hey everyone,
I’m in Norfolk and fish the bay, Lynnhaven Inlet, and other locations in the area. I primarily fish from the beach or pier as I am boatless. Fishing from the beach has it’s limitations and I have had no luck with my targeted species: trout, drum, flounder. Anyone have any suggestions on public areas I can fish with a little more success? I’m still learning the ropes on surf fishing and appreciate any advice.

I use to take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the first Island and fish from the pier there. That was a LOong time ago. Check and see if they still have that.

Right now the island us closed off for some kind of construction project.

With the new Bridge Tunnel being constructed, The pier is closed until further notice.

I have but not enough to keep as I mainly fish the beaches and I catch the small ones.

I use to fish on both sides of the Chesapeake Bay tunnel off of the beach used small ells as bait had good luck just having to find a place to park is a pain, I retired and moved to Halifax Va , the fish I'm holding I just caught on Kerr lake Buggs Island, Good luck
