I'm curious if there are any auto racing fans here and which series you follow. I'm somewhat into NASCAR Cup series but not like I used to be. Mark Martin, Rusty, Bill Elliott, Davey Allison, etc. was my time. I'm liking the resurgence of Indycar the last few years. Currently I'm watching the Indycar race at Road America Wisconsin. A most beautiful track and the driver's favorite. Good track food(brats) and great atmosphere. I've been to about 15 races there and the family with me about 10 of those times. Sadly it has become too expensive. Any other fans out there?

Being as I am a motor head I have enjoyed Auto racing forever. Off Road is my biggest interest I grew up in the Mojave Desert. I used to go to Off Road races there several times a year.

I'm no racing fan but this is the chit-chat section and open to pretty much anything that's not lewd, political or religious. In the "Main" section it would be inappropriate, but here it's perfectly alright. The topic clearly states what it's about. Not interested? Just don't open it and don't read it.

use to love it. Can't stand nascar anymore. To robotic in the way all the cars have to be the same. Stopping the race so the slow cars can catch up. Nascar has ruined Stock Car racing. just saying.

Agree Gordon when Dale earnhardt passed nascar went downhill 🙄 Went to Bristol Spring and fall race about 15 years running. Went to Rockingham once then the next year they done away with that race. I still watch a Few races with friends an have cookouts 👍

Think about this, what is going to happen to this sport if have to go ALL electric? Will the INDY 500 now become the INDY 50?

Nah, they'll just pop one out and pop in a fully charged one. I don't know what top speed is on a Tesla, but I know it'll set you back in your seat 0-100. I doubt much will change at all except for the noise. That's gonna be weird.

Restrictor plates ruin it. They are to keep speeds down for safety but then all the cars are the same and travel in a pack. That in itself is dangerous because a wobble turns into a big pileup.

Bristol was one of the most fun races to watch.
