Why is it not good to fish in the middle of the day? I do decent in the evening but never good in the middle of the day.

I have to agree J! However, if that is the case "plant questions" ....what a waste of everyone's time! There is plenty of great conversation and information sharing here! I could do without the silly plants!

Motion Sickness is no joke. Best to talk to your doctor first. I have tried everything and it’s still hit and miss. I love my trips with my friends but, sometimes I’m a very weak and sick person even when we get back on land.

I spend time on some fast flowing rivers, and some choppy lakes. I always get a bit woozy at first, but I adjust and relax and it usually dissapears. I also make sure to watch where we’re going and keep looking at the shore. Then I can enjoy the night. I’ve also done some night fishing in some choppy water and been just fine(beer probably helped).

But tomorrow I’m going on my first offshore trip, maybe 20 miles outside in San Diego. I believe it’s suppose to be 5 foot chops that last around 10 seconds. Guy I’m going with said that’s not too rough, but still recommend I take some medicine. But most of the medicine can make vision blurry, which also doesn’t sound like fun, and I’m visiting with a rental car, and my wife refuses to drive in a city this large. I’m also not one who vomits much. I may have vomited 2 times in the last 3-5 years, usually while I have a fever.

So how bad is sea sickness? Anyone else suffer from it. I just worried because stuff like staring and focusing on moving water will definitely make me dizzy, but really only makes me uncomfortable. Same with staring at a phone while someone else is driving. Trying to decide if I should go to the pharmacy and get some meds to take tonight.

Thanks for the welcome.
I fish Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and some in Nebraska so, I’m not sure what will help you. Southern mid-west seems fitting. Thanks again for your welcome.

Beaver lake is known for large stripers. The lake holds a lot of bucketmouths as well as Hybrid (Wipers). Go deep into the pockets at first light with top water baits, work your way out banging shoreline. When top water slows up reach for the square bill and and keep throwing bait. Afternoons you will probably need the drop shot in 20 plus feet of water to turn bass. Crappie requires finding cover (structure) and turning on the school.
Deep Cranking points can also be very successful. Enjoy your trip.

There was no science to it. We took what we had made bait lit the lantern and watched the rod tips. Channel cats , carp and turtles all took the bait. Yes most of it included peanut butter.

Correct! The peanut butter is a bonding agent as well as gelatin.
Many of nights spent rebaiting as the current washed it away.

Beautiful fish man. I’m jealous.
Have you tried to start at first light? That may give you a longer early bite before they run from the sun. ......OVER.......
