Looking into fishing as a hobby, gonna start with some lakes maybe get a cheap boat and go boat fishing on lake and eventually maybe expand from there.

Fishing alone can be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing outings. Obviously it’s important to ensure your safety since you’re alone, but if you take the proper steps you’re all good! From life jackets to landing nets, just be prepared - can’t stress that enough!

Some of my most proud catches have come while alone. It’s awesome to share those accomplishments with others but nothing beats the personal satisfaction of doing it all myself imo.

Tight lines!

I go alone a fair amount. nothing wrong with it at all! It's peaceful to just fish by yourself sometimes.

It's pouring rain here, and I'm actually debating going fishing now by myself for example

Only problem fishing by yourself is you can’t share your excitement when you catch a big fish. Still awesome though.

Everything is socially acceptable to do alone, stop worrying about what others think and just go enjoy yourself.

Don't worry what others think. They rarely do it anyways.

I fish alone 90% of the time and the other 10% of the time I wish I was alone

I mostly go fishing alone, and I don't mind it at all.

I caught my all my pb's alone, which doesn't take away from my feeling of accomplisment. But I do with I had a friend along to share it with.

I do try to make my friends go with me, but I am rarely succesful :(

Of course it is. Just make sure you tell someone where you're going and take some beers/herb with you if you plan on staying over night.

Main reason people in my area got mad that they tried to stop fishing during social distancing is because if you fish within 10 feet of someone else you are a jerk. Fishing alone is completely normal. They why so many grumpy old bastards fish lol
