I over heard some elderly guys talking about using peanut butter as bait? Is this really a thing, if so what type of fish do you catch with it and how do you use it. Like do you put peanut butter on a lure or in one of this catfish basket things?
Sorry if this is a dumb question or maybe the elderly dudes were just messing with me.
I'm still fairly new to fishing. Started last year and caught a 27lbs flathead catfish and now I'm hooked. Pun was totally intended.

Good Mornin' KYLA, welcome to the Forum. I have never heard of anyone using peanut butter, read anything about people using peanut butter, or tried it myself, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work for bait. It isn't anything I would waste a lot of time with, and I would never try it in public. I would be afraid they would call 9-1-1 on me.
