Went fishing with my oldest son in Huron, Ohio and decided to grab a charter as we both are bass guyz, but we wanted to try some walleye stuff. Charter captain and first mate were dynamite and we brought home to ILLinOIZ for some meals. While in Huron I picked up a copy of their fishing regulations for 2020-2021. Back at the motel I wanted to see what you can catch, and was absolutely amazed that Ohio can outline ALL their regulations in nineteen pages.
When I got back to ILLinOIZ I pulled out their regulation. To my amazement it took the ILDNR seventy-seven pages to outline their regulations. Both states border a Great Lake, both have similar available fish species. I guess I now understand why ILLinOIZ SUX. Not much longer for this retired GI.

And I thought being drafted in '66 was terrible. My Old Man, a Tin Can sailor from WWII, taught me how to enjoy SOS, so I was right at home during basic at Ft Polk, LA in JUL. All went well, retired in Dec '98. Paycheck has not bounced ................yet!

Still got a 300, and outside of balance (not back in the old days) works like a champ. Only problem is that the guy at the sport store asked me if I was right handed and he recommended a 300 for me and my bride. How times change. Never crank with my right paw on spin-cast or bait cast forever. Make twice as many casts without switching hands!

You mean you Southern Gentleman consume alcoholic beverages while chasing those finny characters? Here in Shitcago, the wonderful new Mayor closed the entire lake front to feeeeshen cause of the COVID thing. Almost wish I lived in that dump of a city so I could vote against her next time around. Guess I'll just have to stay in the suburbs and listen to the shooting reports.

I'm with Jeff on this one, after I got my first one ...........I just couldn't help myself (my bride of 53 years favorite line) I bought four more of the HUK brand, red, white and blue. Be sure to turn inside out when you wash them. Keeps the logo lookin' good.

Meanwhile here in Shitcago, the Mayor has closed the E N T I R E lakefront to any foot traffic. Ain't it great when some folks get a little power.

Probably very well, he just wanted to keep it a secret. I live across the street from a Jr HS. When the bell rings and the rug rats come streaming out, all you see is them staring at their hands and their phones. Meanwhile, their parents are in their cars doing the same damn thing.

I'm not bitter, just to show you..... I still have a flip phone from TRACFONE, costs me $20 for three months service. Yep you guessed it, I'm a 73 YO Viet Nam Helicopter pilot, and I ain't gonna get killed staring at my hands. I'll let the rest of my family do that.

Stick and a board, heard about it maybe fifty years ago. Never tried it. I need to keep my local bait store in business, cause the big box stores here in Shitcago don't even sell fishing poles anymore. My local guy gives me the best count on bait I have ever had, and Wallyworld don't need my $3.00, while I wait in line, then have my receipt checked.

Get him a subscription to B.A.S.S., think a newbie only costs $10. Will cause that new fire to start burning big time. But warn him..... this feeeeeeshen stuff is contagious, and it really likes $$$$$$. The other best thing is for you to discover, the good times TOGETHER!

My Father, and my Father in-law, are both feeeeshen with the BIG Fisherman, but we had a ton of great time together.

You think it's tough when you're 60? Wait til the odometer hits 70 (3 years ago for me). If I keep moving, I'm good to go. I played more rounds of golf (9 holes) and fished more than I did when I was in the service back in the cave man days. Happy New year to all us "OLD FARTZ" cause it has to be better than the alternative.
