Ok, every now and then I get the chance to introduce this concept to someone who has never heard of it. So come on, who do and who don’t know what I’m talking about ??

Stick and a board, heard about it maybe fifty years ago. Never tried it. I need to keep my local bait store in business, cause the big box stores here in Shitcago don't even sell fishing poles anymore. My local guy gives me the best count on bait I have ever had, and Wallyworld don't need my $3.00, while I wait in line, then have my receipt checked.

Oh My... you’re not gonna believe it, but it’s actually a REALLY big thing. Heck, they have worm fiddling festivals.
Check it out on YouTube. Believe me it works. Easiest and cheapest way to get bait. And you can do it anywhere there are worms.
This little bit of info could save folks here a million $..

Worm charming . Read about it about 10-12 yrs ago in the news paper. It didn't break down on the exact type of metal or how far to drive the wood in the ground though.

We'd cut down a small sapling in a wooded area take a saw and go straight down the center of the sapling stump causing it to vibrate the worms would just come right up. Use that same sapling all summer long.

Also knew a couple guys who would take a car battery hook 2 screwdrivers to two lengths of wire stick the screwdrivers in the ground several feet apart hook wires to positive and negative post and wait a couple minutes. they come right up.

We would take cut down a small sapling in a wooded area. take a bow saw and saw back and forth down the middle of the sapling stump causing it to vibrate worms will come right up. Done my fair share of that.

Also knew people would attach two screwdrivers to two lengths of wire, stick Screwdrivers in the ground. Hook wires to positive and neg. post on car battery, they'll come right up.

You can drive a flat stake about three inches wide into the ground in places where the soil has grass and is a little moist. Take a brick and scrape it across the top of the stake to make the stake vibrate. If you are in the right place you will get great earth worms. Also find out when the local golf course is going to cut their greens as the heavy mower vibrates and the worms come up to escape.

The battery thing I remember from long ago. The fiddle is the best way to go through. 2 sticks and a pocket knife and ya got bait.

I have to admit I did google it after my post last night. That’s one thing I had never heard of. I have seen it done with electric rods though. You can bet I’ll be sharing the idea with the grandkids in the summer.

I never did the battery thing just knew a couple guys who did but I have fiddled with the sapling
many times. The bigger the teeth on the bow saw the more the sapling would vibrate and the worms would come right up.The place we fiddled was a small gully between two hills that stayed damp most of the time, haven't done that for years. Bet ya most the kids now days would think you were nuts if you told them you were going fiddling for worms.
