I’ve eaten a 16 pounder and it was delicious. Fed a lot of people. I had tried to release, but it was too exhausted. It initially swam away seemingly normal, but my cousin found it hours later floating belly up, so we harvested it. It took 40 minutes on 8 lb line to land it the first time.

That's small fish with a big appetite. I've had it happen several times and have a photograph of a Bass to show it but you better look real close.

You also can’t catch fish while looking around to find fish or if you don’t have your hook in the water. I frequently out fish most people on party boats because my hook is in the the water more often than others.

If that’s your style, then you've “hooked up”

They make a product called SYNVISC which is injected into the knee joint like cortisone but it is a different product. It doesn’t work on everyone, but for those it does it is great. I could tell the difference after my first injection before I even got back to my car. I was able to delay bi-lateral knee replacement for about 4 years. When it no longer was effective I also new it immediately. Pretty amazing stuff. Ask your surgeon about it.

Like it or not, some of us have actually caught and weighed enough fish to accurately estimate an approximate weight by sight. That being said, I’ve seen many professional fishing shows were they’ve caught a 1-1 1/2 pound bass and comment on it as being 4lbs or better. Sounds better to the audience, but really stretching the truth.

I've had friends that were part time commercial fisherman who had to give up fishing due to loss of vision. They were advised by their Dr's to wear Dark Tint Sun Glasses, but never did. I personally have had skin cancer and many other pre-cancers. In fact, had one out 2 weeks ago. Dermatologist prescribes a special Sun Tan Lotion for protection for exposed skin areas and I wear UV protective clothing from Columbia Sports wear.
As kids we didn't know about UV damage, today we do. Take precautions.

Maybe someday the recording will change from weight to length. Kind if hard to stretch a fish.

I used Walkie Talkie for communication with grandchildren out on the lake or in the woods. They worked great and are even more less expensive now than when I got mine 20 yrs ago. You can get a couple on Amazon and try them out in your vehicles and check distances to insure it's what you need. If not return them, no cost.

If it's in good condition and good motor, then you have a real bargain. Cheap expense to have the motor looked at professionally of unexpected problems. Motor parts are hard to come buy for older motors as many parts manufactures went out of business during covid. There are a few recyclers showing up in the country. I was able to get an Electrical Harness for 5 dollars on a 1999 4 stroke Evenrude that had never given me any troubles. A replacement motor would have been about $10,000.
In the event anyone needs parts:

Don’t know what happened to them, but there were “Chocolate Covered Ants” when I was a kid. Pretty good eating if you like chocolate.
