Would you eat a ant?

Hello stagers,
This isn't a trivia question, just an opinion.
I was asked today. " Would you eat a ant "?
I had to laugh because I actually have. A missionary from Africa brought some fried ants with him when he spoke at our church. He offered anyone to try them. Myself and one lady volunteered. She spit hers out, but I didn't. He brought his mic over to when I was sitting and asked me to describe it.
" It tastes like a crunchy potato chip ".
I've also eaten crickets. I've had them dipped in chocolate, in cookies and even stir fried.
Here's my question to you. Would you eat a ant, or perhaps even a cricket 🦗

Though I haven't yet felt the urge to seek them out, heck yeah; I'd try them.
Insects seem an incredible protein source which many of our global brothers & sisters figured out quite a while ago.
Pretty efficiently farmed.
Have seen one or more Shark Tank deals made on insect products.
They are acomin' to America.

I have and a lot of other things. You should read what foreign substances the USDA allows in food.
Or maybe not.

I ate some when I was young. All I can remember is they reminded me of eating sand. They must have been roasted too hard.

I forgot to mention that I have also eaten meal worms, and was challenged to eat a bee moth larvae ( Wax Worm ) that we were fishing 🎣 with.
I did and my Grandson was grossed out, and told Grandma when we got home.
She said " I'm not supposed "

Hey CB,

I'd try a Honeypot Ant. They look like a small grape with legs. I hear they are sweet and nutritious.
I've had chocolate-covered baby bees (by mistake), and I didn't like them.

I have also swallowed numerous gnats and fruit flies floating in my Chardonnay. Does that count?

I'm not eating insects unless I have to. They are just not a culinary delight for me. Also, my days of eating bugs have long since passed.

So, No, I won't eat an ant.
This answer resembles your answer to the question, "Does salt make water boil faster?" I was surprised you didn't mention that "Nucleation" is required for water to boil, or you will end up with Superheated water.

What is a rice bug?
As far as scorpions I'm not sure? I saw a show were they aet them alive. They dip their stingers in alcohol to neutralize the poison.

I’ve had meal worms, fried, they reminded me of a potato chip as your ant did you.
I liked them
