All stripers are a planted hybrid. Striped bass is not native to the delta. Fish and game does plant them regularly. I do believe it's established enough to have a breeding fishery .

Sounds like you had a good time. Powder is fun for skiing but light on water. It will take 3 years of weather like this to get reservoirs. Above worrying. They use the rivers to ship the water to the water districts. 1995 I was on my honey moon and we skied til. Fourth of July. Well we destroyed rental skis on a surface of ice and gravel.

Just got back from two days of skiing in Lake Tahoe. Went up early Sunday morning, came home last nite.Beat the upcoming storm. I’ve been skiing this area my entire life. This trip we encountered some of the best powder skiing EVER. In all my years up there I’ve never seen so much snow on the ground and piled up along highway 50 at stateline. There were over 20 rigs getting loaded up with excess snow and hauling it away at the casinos. No where to put it. Drove up in my sons new Chevy Trail Boss 4x4. One hell of a truck! I can’t imagine what another 4 to 6 ft.of expected new snow will do to the area. I can only imagine what a positive thing this will do to for our lakes and reservoirs come this spring after the snow melt. Hopefully water and lake management are planning for this. Driving home along highway 50 the American river was raging. I truly hope that all this is a positive thing. On another note, if anyone is thinking about heading up to that area Please be aware of black ice on the roads, saw quite a few of spin outs and wreaks in the the area. Please be patient and take your time!!!

Does Diego Garcia count. Had to pack the world's smallest fishing pole in my rack on the sub. Got skunked.

808 is all I use works fine no birds nesting or general issues that happen to open-faced reels. I load mine up with 40 lb braid they hold a mile of line. Zebco snoopy pole worked when I was 5. I own 4 808's and they are priced right I could lose 2 and not be out a $100.

I am new to sturgeon fishing and don't understand the depth they run nor they're eating pattern

Eating pattern when they move over your bait they gently suck it in the feed vertical look like pilings on some fish finders. If they sense your line the don't take the bait. You have to watch the pole good no bait cliker on the reel the line is free spooling. If you think they have taken the bait you lift the pole with the tip still down towards the water. Engage the reel and attempt to set the hook. Barbless hooks. I fish one pole for striper set one to soak for sturgeon

Hello. I am happy to be on the site. I am a trout fishing lover and have had a lot of success fishing on the upper Sacramento.
I want to take my 35 year old daughter fishing in the fall and am looking for recommendations for where to go. I want to rent a cabin nearby.
If anyone can help me with this, I would be so grateful!!!
Thank you, Gail

trinity lake. lake siskyou. Hat creek honesty I would have to look at the burnt and drought map this year. It even hit amador. Bucks lake, Frenchman's and eagle lake are always good lake Collins. I went to high school in Susanville. That's a big area. Were you thinking off I-5 or 101 or 395?

galena creek from 395 to Callahan road. its rough Brookes 🌈 bows and a few German bro wns. a piece of worm a 12 gold hook split shot on 6 lb test and knowing which way to walk when fishing a small creek. its too thick to fly fish and no one ever really attempts it. . limits in an hour easy. other wise pyramid or lahontaN or Indian lakes. washoe is good for catfish. Tahoe and Truckee are over fished for my taste.

all the water is cold up there. I have been to springs outside Westwood near a pioneer cemetery. that was 1991 summer after I graduated high school from susanville. That was with a Paiute kid from the reservation there. all I remember was it was down a forest service road near a pioneer cemetery. I hopped on the first bus out of town for the Navy and never went back. I'll be in dunsmuir 4th of July. might have to look for it. but all the world class fishing is weaverville. west so they say.

I fish year round in california. never needed a license. totally legal. stripers. sturgeon, salmon. halibut starry flounder. crabs. bull heads. groundfish. no license. plus two free fishing days a year. if you own a boat or insist on fishing from shore then you need a license otherwise. the liberals build jetties and piers specifically for public to fish off of for free. or load up on planters at some reservoir for $75 plus so you can double pole cut bows and large mouths. its all about priorities.
