Well, if he left home, went to work, and paid for food, he’s doing what’s right and is good. I see no reason to revolt.

We are catching yellow perch on the western side of the bay.

I’m assuming you mean Chesapeake bay, so wonder exactly where, if/how brackish the water, and how plentiful/large the perch are.
I’m down at VA NC border so no competition, just wondering. I used to love catching perch but never as plentiful as used to be. Blue cats do like em, lol

Crystal river should be good for all kinds of both fresh and saltwater fish (probably crabs too).
I’ve never fished right there cause never had time or new where access the water, but maybe someday.
Hope you get some good, specific, info.

Good morning Journey, glad you joined the fishing family here as you know already we love pictures, I'm way down south of you so I can't give much advice on the fishing up there but if you ever get down to do some Florida fishing I can help you out 🎣🎣 hope you have a great weekend 🙏 Chuck

Good going Chuck. Happy New Year to ya.
I’m born and raised in z Jersey too, and have caught some of everything available there in last lotta years. I get to FL once in a while (now I’m south central VA, right at NC border).
I hope can find you snd get some advice about places in FL. I’ve caught few fresh and saltwater fish there, but usually going about it kinda blind and wishing knew more about where/when.
Good luck to you
Ed

It’s a shame how few respond to most things at this site.
I’m curious too about the fishing in so many these spots, plus how busy and how access might be for bringing along wife who can’t walk far even with her walker.

Salt? Inshore or offshore?
Fresh? How small a boat? Need ramp? Motor?
Fish to be found everywhere!

To do as God has done, give; not to oneself because that is enjoying what He has given. Take time to give to someone else.

I fish more in Kerr than Gaston, but can’t help wondering how you were fishing, what bait, and why no fish. I don’t remember ever getting skunked anymore, least not since a teenager (long long time ago).
Catfishing should be going real well now that spawning over. They are hungry.

All depends on what fish you’re trying catch. Cut bait will attract some, while whole fish others, crustaceans others.
Talk to people on the pier and watch, you’ll see who knows what and what/how they catch.
If just off the beach, I’d go with sand fleas on small hook, right behind the first breaker or where you might see a trough or little rip current. I’d be looking for pompano for supper.

Hello; Grenlock, huh! I was born 69 yr ago) and raised in NJ but had to paste the name on Map to find out where that is. That looks like a lot of driving to get to really good places, but sure there’s some good bass and pickerel spots round there too. I did fish all over the state, but majority was near the Jersey Shore. Boy Scouts and friends had me up in north Jersey trout fishing, caught few monster pickerel up there, some nice bass too. Caught a lot of pickerel all over the cranberry bogs and pine lands. Built my first house on a lagoon where cedar Creek runs into Barnegat Bay, so real familiar with all the salt water species from the Highlands down to Great Bay.
I live down in VA now, right near NC border. Things are different here, but fishing is pretty good.
Where do you fish, or want to?

Should be able catch trout pretty easily. I hope locals get back to you. I’m pretty far away right now
