Had a different supper this Christmas. Seafood Gumbo. Made with Clams, Oysters, Shrimp, Goose and Sausage. Had some french bread to sop it up with. Home made apple pie for desert with apples we picked last month in NC. Had some home made Hard Tack Candy. Most of you from up north should know what this is. An old girlfriend's mother from Ohio introduced me to this. Almost forgot. Some cookies also.
Gumbo
Pie
Cookies, Fudge and Rum Balls
Hard Tack Candy
That’s the first hard tack I’ve seen this year. I didn’t get a picture but we had a ham yesterday and I cook the ham bone in a pot of soup beans all day today and miss wv baked up a pan of cornbread. It won’t be a silent night here lol.

Just stay away from open flames or it might be blue flame time!

Ham n bean soup n Chilli has a way of getting everyones attention 😂😂
You know, yesterday we had a beautiful ham, twice baked potatoes and a bunch of other sides for dinner. My daughter cooked, we added to it. The main idea was keep it simple. Sitting around later, we figured next year make it even simpler. An all appetizer meal. Take a tray of your favorite bites out of the oven an eat them standing up. Eat on your feet. Everybody gets to move around with the conversations. Run out of food, take another tray out of the oven. Might be fun to try.

Those hard candies were always a tradition with my Mom.
Mike, I agree. Won't be a silent night.

This was Saturday with a lot of sides. Getting ready to start pulling it.
Pulling that would be like picking blackberries one for the bucket and 2 for me.

Christmas dinner does not have to be a roast, turkey, or goose with all the fixins. Looks delicious and I hope you got to share it with family or good company! Belated Merry Christmas to you!

Seafood gumbo sounds like a good way to start new tradition.
