Here in N Florida I use 1/8 and remember slower the better let the bait do the work!
Abu Garcia black/pro max combo 100$ or less!!!! Great combo and will last!!!!!!
I live the n St Augustine fish lake George and Crescent and the St Johns soft plastics 1/16-3/8oz. Flip pads and lay downs in morning and look for bait clouds in afternoon and docks with chatter baits
If you are pitching it into grass or pads or really thick cover you are fine. If not it’s a little heavy 3/8-1/2oz is good for flipping docks and banks
Gold and black Rapala balsa jerk baits “the original ones”!! Pull and pause!! Also any other jerk baits in trout colors. 3-4 inch is my favorite
Snail eggs.. We have very large snails in our lakes in Florida and I’ve seen them laying them
