Getting ready to fish freshwater in Florida(targeting any game fish, using multiple rods/lures/baits) I'm relatively well experienced already. I'm just wondering if there's anything I should know specifically for fishing in Florida. Thanks.

It has been a VERY hot summer in Florida. Try to fish early in the morning or around sunset. If you do go fishing in the afternoon try to cast near cover (lillypads, under bridges etc.)

I’ve never been fishing in Florida and I know they have great fishing but I gotta say the alligators are a deal breaker for me. I’d prefer to stay here in Michigan where the only thing I have to worry about is big turtles

Bring along "Deep Woods OFF"; would be a very good idea.

I would also recommend "Googling" for: "The Poisonwood" y also for: "The Manchineel", if you are going anywhere near SE Florida.

Also, I would look for a good "snake-stick" as soon as I get out of the vehicle. I also recommend that you become confident that you can identify "Oleander", and never use it as firewood.
Be mindful of fire-ants, they can cause a nice day to become miserable, in a hurry.

When you said ‘snake-stick’ i was thinking like one of our snake-sticks 9mm - 45 etc😂 Had a run in with them nasty fire ants when I was in Texas and yes they can ruin a perfectly good week!!!

Yeah, you right; it's more of a week, than a day, ain't it?
As far as the pistol goes, I would ✓✓ y ✓✓✓ all the legal aspect of having it/ USING IT; better safe, than sorry, being from outta State, and all. But, yeah, I was just referring to an appropriate small 5 or 6 ft. long stout sprig of a fallen tree branch, if you're near any live oak, for instance. Something to just "point the snake in the right direction", kind of an idea.
If there is no LEGAL reason to leave your pistol at home; I,'d bring mine along. No doubt.

Florida lets you conceal carry. Went on vacation there last year and nearly had to draw mine when a big ole boy thought he was gonna take a switch he was breaking off a tree to a 10-12 year old boy. I walked over to him and said if he had to switch somebody it needed to be me and not the boy. He drew back with the switch but then reconsidered and just got in his car and left. I was happy and my wife was right there peeing her pants. Glad it stayed holstered.
Where in FL will you be fishing?
Lots of large mouth bass down there. They will take large plastic worms on a Texas rig around Lilly pads and under cover during the day. Top water swim baits in the morning and evening. Even minnows on a bobber under a full moon. Good for a fish fry. Protect yourself from the sun, though. It well make you a fish fry.

I live in South Florida. I would worry more about fire ants than snakes or gators. Yes, snakes and gators are here but the generally will leave you alone if you leave them alone. Fire ants on the other hand can leave you with bites that will last a long time. If you accidentally step on their hill you can have hundreds of them on you in seconds. They bite and sting and if you happen to be allergic can send you to the hospital real quick.
