You should try it with and without the stand. Maybe it's not a bad idea for protecting a high-end reel, if you don't mind the extra weight.
That handle will switch to lefty, too. It's the only way the stand would attach.
Also, I just ordered a dust cap for mine. $5.00

I use palomar knot or improved clinch.
ABSOLUTELY CHECK YOUR GUIDES. It could be that simple.

I've heard cut bait works just fine in FW.
Also, haven't tried it...yet.

I find straight braid to lure gets me wound around the lure/hooks sometimes. Could be my technique.
also, a good size TA clip and flouro leader can submerge the plug too much. and, flouro sinks, so maybe a good mono leader. I'd go braid to swivel to mono to direct loop knot. 2-3' leader?
this is strictly for topwater.

Roof rack, a few straps, (not ratcheting), they're too strong and could crush your kayak, and a few towels (do you don't scratch).

A lot of people are switching to barbless. It's better for the fish. It's easier for you. And it'll help when you get a hook in you. It's inevitable.
Just keep tension when you hook up.

I know the shimano tranx is the "holy grail" of reels, but I was wondering if kastking reels are any good? It's half the price and has similar specs to the shimano tranx. The gear ratio is lower, but the drag and line capacity is higher and it weighs less. Should I just bite the bullet and spend the money on a shimano tranx or get the kastking and a new rod?
