I always like to have a set of pliers, one of those plastic ponchos, a rag and extra line in my tacklebox whenever I head out. Are there any other things you guys always like to have with you that you have found use?

My boat is kind of a floating tackle box now
When I had a real tackle box , a spare cigarette lighter was a must have.

I use a tackle bag. I carry a Leatherman, knife, flashlight, Firestarter & lighter, needle nose & dykes plus some quart zip locks, small screwdriver & a small bottle of reel oil. I also carry the same necessities in both boats. I always have rain gear in the boats & a set in my truck. I have a 2 wheel tackle cart I use on the fishing docks. I have a small cooler, tackle bag with crappie & bluegill lures & the same necessities as my other bags plus a folding seat & zip locks. I always clean my fish on the docks cleaning station. Those tools have saved my bacon more than once.

I have a copy of my lisc. in every fishing bag, my waders, my fly vest, and the glove compartment of my pick up.

I bank fish for trout and go pretty light. I have a leatherman, a few sinkers, mostly quarter oz, some swivels and beads, 10 pound fluoro and some extra hooks. Throw in some bait and a pair of scissors, I'm good to go.

Small can of "Deep Woods OFF"; a roll of "T.P." in a Zip-Loc bag; short and long "Mill Smooth" flat files; whet stone/ & Arkansas Stone/ a wee bottle of honing oil. Large and small Vise-Grips... I've never taken it fishing yet, but, I bought a needle nose pliers at an auto-parts store that has 7+1/4" from the grip to the tip; 11" OAL... Just looked like a good tool to own.

I've also got a small needle nose Vise Grip, for holding onto any small hooks that need to be sharpened.
