G****l w*****g, yes. Don't confuse weather with c*****e c****e. A warmer climate causes more frequent e*****e w*****r. Hotter hot, colder cold ,ect. But also extremes we have had occasionally forever, it was -40* in Feb. 1976, also the worst thunderstorm I have ever seen July 4th that same year in the Willamette Valley . We almost never get severe weather here. But gradually we are getting hotter and drier and our Fir trees are starting to die.
C*****e c****e is gradual, a part of a degree in the yearly average, hardly noticable if not for the extremes, they get our attention.

Is anyone else having trouble getting into the Christmas Spirit?

I haven’t seen a single Chia Pet or Santa sledding down a hill on a Norelco shaver commercial on tv. It just doesn’t seem like Christmas without them.

Things do seem a little off this year

Decided to go out again today, Friday 12/16, because we had $100 worth of bait left from the previous trips that would be rotten by the time we could go next week. Got ahold of my fishing buddies from the Alaska Salmon trip and they were in! Marine forecast showed 1’ wind waves and 1’ swell, with a good breeze coming from inland. All was good up to and about 1 mile past the light house and then things got snotty. Worse conditions so far this year, 2-3’ wind waves, white caps everywhere, and the wind was blowing us hard off our marks while setting. Our first set ended up 100 yards outside of our marked honey hole, and when we pulled them the crab were few and far between. We then reset and ended on the outside edge of our marks, when we pulled the second set, bam! There they were. Reset to get our limits and ended up at 37 or so crab, we didn’t keep one that was under 6” and many were 6 1/4” to 6 1/2” with a few 7” mixed in. It was rough and tumble the whole time and we also got some MONSTER rock crabs.

Wouldn’t want to be out in conditions much worse, the boat could handle it, but I wouldn’t want too.

Kudos and good morning to my walking encyclopedias of fishing.
In the past I have seen people use WD-40 before rinsing off their fishing gear to attack or loosen any salt or sand and suggest that it is good for the line even to go as far saying good attractant for fish. Sounds fishy to me has anyone used or tried on their equipment.

And pondering using 30 lb floral carbon for mainline some say the diameter is too large will coil off spinning reel and some say it's a softer material and breaks easier I say I take it to the experts who may have knowledge of this. As always I appreciate your knowledge and any feedback you may have. thank you

Don't use WD 40 if you are going to store the reels it will get sticky and attract dust

2 Trout fishing on Green Peter Reservoir this time of year can be slow, but rewarding to
anglers who like to have the lake and it’s panoramic views practically to themselves.
3 The coho run in the North Santiam is starting to wind down. But there are still fish
around and water levels should be back in shape this week.
4 Road access to Breitenbush River has been restored, and this could be a good fall/winter
destination for trout anglers targeting resident fish.
5 Walter Wirth Lake was stocked this week with 100 brood trout

Best bets for fishing
Don’t let winter weather keep you from hitting the water – frozen and not. Some anglers wait all year for winter steelhead and ice fishing, and right now is one of the best times of the year to go crabbing.
• If you’ve been waiting for winter steelhead season, it’s here! And anglers have been landing early returners in several coastal and Willamette Valley rivers. If you haven’t ever tried winter steelhead fishing, here’s your introduction. If you’re looking to up your game, we’ve got these tips for winter steelhead fishing.
• As winter cold has set in, anglers already are enjoying ice fishing in some parts of the state. Ice fishing can be a great way to continue fishing through the winter – if you can’t beat it, enjoy it. Right? If you’ve never been, here are some tips to get you started.
• December is a great month for crabbing on the Oregon coast. And if you like crab over the holidays, why not catch your own? A shellfish license is only $10, crabbing from docks and piers is easy and accessible, and you can even rent the gear you’ll need. Here’s everything you’ll need to know to get started.

The stereotype is that guys prefer to take a shower while ladies like to soak in the tub. I go for the tub more often now that I'm retired, what's your choice?

Next question is when? Yeah I know, when you need one! But in addition to an unscheduled clean-up, some folks shower when they get up in the morning and other people finish the day with soap and water. What's your choice, and why?

I clean up before I go to bed. Partly to be as fresh as possible for the lady next to me, and partly because I sleep better if I'm clean.
