I've used a "squirrel proof feeder for years. In fact I'm on my second one. Heavy Guage steel all around and trapdoor on both sides that is adjustable for weight. Birds can land, squirrels weigh too much and close the doors. Combined with a cone on the stand it's about 99% good. If all else fails and they get out of control, I hVe a 1300 fps air rifle with a 9X scope and I rarely miss.

Rarely see em in my neighborhood. A friend in Lincoln, Neb has live trapped and relocated 54 this year. Wife doesnt want him to kill but they play havoc with her plants so he stays busy relocating.
