Heading to Camanche next week for bass. Anybody been out? Success? Suggested baits? Thanks.
Lovely Martha has been scoring. Check out their website or Facebook page.
Anybody been out to Lake Berryessa between storms. I’m assuming that with all the rain and lake would have risen, the lake cooled and the trout would be up within the top 5’ - 10’.
Anyone confirm?
I’m sure they’re snowed in and or iced over, but who can tell me when the trout season opens for the lakes north of Lake Tahoe - Donner, Prosser, Boca, etc.? Same opening for Truckee River?
Call them fir the most updated information. We’ll be there late April bug we fish for bass.
Tight Lines to you and your grandson. Hope to take mine there one day.
This is great. Who is sponsoring this event. I used to head up a program where we’d take special needs kids fishing.
Let me know if you need organizational help.
These are mainly black bass lures. Some they don’t make anymore and can be valuable to a collector.
Striped bass will take anything that looks like a baitfish. Some of these would work, but you’d probably work but you’d probably want something bigger.
Everybody has their own preferences. Personally, my favorite was the Mitchell 310x, but they don’t make them anymore. I have a number of ultralight spinning reels. They all work well. Again it’s personal preference.
It really depends on what you catch and how you cook it.
I have a couple that my suit your needs. PM me.
What kind of fishing are you planning to do? That might make a difference.
Personally I don’t really like telescoping rods. I prefer multi piece rods. The action is better and the rod is not a stiff. There are a number of them out there. Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas has a few.
Not too surprised. Fish will hit almost anything at some point. I’ve caught trout on 5” Senkos, more than once.
I’ve been using Fenwick rods for probably 50 years including blanks when then still sold them.
The motto was, “I’m a Fenwick Man”. I still am.
There are a lot of good multi piece pack rods out there, Fenwick, Bass Pro Shops, etc.
oi have a number of them. I personally don’t like telescopic rods, too stiff.
When I couldn’t find what I wanted I built my own, different lengths, actions, etc.
Good luck and tight lines to you.
Used pyramid sinkers. They should hold. Run you line through the top to use as sliding sinkers.
