The one thing that all these left wing nuts don't realize is that when they try gun confiscation that it's all the conservatives that have guns and aren't about to give them up.

Wish I could say that that's funny but the more you know the scarier and realistic it's becoming only not the time stamp way too much sooner sorry to say. Thank God for 2016 and Pray for 2020 hope that will fix up the next 40 years.

You don't realize that they also get $75-$100,000.00 per year from each of the Many many sponsors they have. That's why KVD has made over $8 million in winnings but even more with other additions. It's a lot of hard work a lot of luck and some breaks but they earn every penny they make. I've been fortunate to meet many of them and most (not all) are real down to earth good people.

it's the biggest fist I have ever caught. down in Arkansas just north of Texarkana it was 74" long and had a circumference of I imagine we didn't measure that but the length we did it's head was about 16 plus inches long and I was able to get my last of 4 dozen diamond shads from the side of its mouth with long needle nose pliers. I've had bigger tarpon and bigger barracuda on but both spooled me and I never landed them so after 15 years as a charter captain and another 50 plus years of fishing that's the greatest tale I have to tell except for the record steelhead that one of my passengers fought for an hour and it was too big to bring in with the net. he wanted to jump in Lake Michigan and put a rope thru its gills and haul it aboard. Of course I would not let him as we were eight feet above the water and 15 mile from shore with 43 degree water he thought we could just tow him to shore . I told him he'd be dead before we made it to shore. Nice pictures though. Even a blind dog finds a bone once in a while so just hang in there and I'm sure everyone else's day is coming.

I kind of disagree with one of the comments above if you are going to use braid Do not use anything lighter than 30#. It's too thin and it's too easy to get wound on the spool onto itself and create backlasses. wait till you have a little more experience to do that. Number 2 Fill your spool about 40 % with some cheap throw away line and tie a knot and put some tape around the whole spooled line, then spool your new line on that is the line you will be casting you will never be casting the line that you have under the tape and the line your using also has a larger spool which will help a lot with the retrieve and casting . I know it sounds kind of crazy but you will see a difference.

Just remember a few things #1 the bigger a gator is the more aggressive he can be I fish a lake down there called Orange lake and after the gators get to be over 6-7' they become a little bit aggressive and start to follow fishermen around so the conservation people trap them and move them to the everglades I'm told. And like was mentioned earlier when it's breeding time you DO NOT want to be anywhere near a bull gators territory as they are VERY protective.

logic would say that since you remove the brittleness that is where you would have the lose of line strength at least that's the logic that I come up with.

One thing you might want to try with a long 2to3' leader is make a side arm not over head cast . When you overhead cast sometimes your leader will tangle up with your main line if your using a Carolina rig. just a tip I picked up from a pro.

If you have never tried a line conditioner you should and you will be amazed at it's performance. I've used both the KVD line cond. and reel eeze and both do exceptionally well. They will not only help take out the stiffness but will help with a slick coating (also spray your guides) that will help you to cast farther and your line will last longer. I've used it for over 10 years and never go on the water without it. So I totally believe.

as far as brick and mortor its hard to beat Bass pro or Cabela's or Walmart I think Tackle direct maybe the best online offering I just hate waiting three or four days for the things I order so I usually go to Bass Pro I like to see and feel what I buy if possible.

there should be a Bass Pro Shop near you and soon they will be having the spring fishing classic where they will have lots of sales and many seminars with local pros and some very big pros also. You can learn a lot about area fishing tips as well as possibly meeting someone to fish with. Also check out BFL draw tournaments you will be paired up with a boater and learn a lot.

by the way you can not believe how quick they can lunge three to four feet to get a lure or a fish that you have on your line. they are a blast catching the three to four footers I've never landed anything bigger than 4 but the tear the heck out of your tackle with the spinning but a lot of fun when nothing else is biting. Be careful

one thing to be VERY cautious about their matting season is coming up. If you happen to come into an area where a bull gator is they usually will let you know with a low growl. While fishing in southern Arkansas with a buddy we went into a small cove and an eleven footer let us know that was his area and to get the hell out. There is no mistaking the sound it is scary and will get your attention for sure.
