I thought Mississippi was looking for a NEW reel
Can’t buy a Mitchell anymore
Even if you could they were good in the day but can’t come close to anything sold these days

I still have my Mitchell 300 and two 308’s
I think braided and fluorocarbon are about the same price
I like a little stretch you get with the fluorocarbon plus it’s heavier so it casts better
And sinks better if you are jigging
I can get it spooled onto my Pflueger President for about $4 bucks

I didn’t know that they were that prevalent
Back in the day I fished the little lake and got no gobies
What do they bite on?

What a Fantastic and bulletproof reel for the money
If you are using ULTRALIGHT why use a leader?
I spool the entire reel with 4 lb fluorocarbon
I use a 6ft St Croix Avid series and the combination of that line and rod make about the most sensitive and strength possible
I use fluorocarbon on my walleye rigs too!
Using only 6lb test it’s practically impossible to break off
I will be putting 3lb test fluorocarbon on my ultralight in spring
I am also from the Appleton area and have fished this area VERY HEAVILY FOR ALMOST 60 YEARS
At least twice a week on Winnebago or its system
never a Goby
A friend of mine caught one up north somewhere about 25 years ago
I wonder if they are as big a threat as some want to think

I am from Wisconsin and fish for them on Winnebago
Out 9 times since late July with 58 Walleyes
Nothing big this year though
It will be my next fish!
