Background talking to someone earlier today and he mentioned a buddy of his (always a friend of a friend) was using this new line that what he said is expensive but that’s debatable however he couldn’t remember what the line was called he said it wasn’t mono, braid, or even fluorocarbon I couldn’t believe I personally think it’s maybe a new line that’s just been improved but I might be wrong, anyone ever heard of something like this?

Thanks for reading,

Berkley Fireline? Its not exactly new but its some kind of "thermally fused" superline. Never used it but I imagine its like braid but all the fibers are fused together into one strand

There's this stuff called Gliss Monotex that is somewhat new. It's super thin and smooth. Strong like braid, but lighter. Casts like it's not even there.

Barkley Fireline was one of the first super lines that came out in the 80’s I used it for a long time. Fireline is shaped like flat tinsel and about the only thing that is better about it over braided line is it’s knot strength.

Berkley Nanofil, not a braided line but a synthetic single core line. Longest casting line I have ever used and I have used many of them.
