Ok
Let’s hear about everyone’s story of how they launched the boat without the drain plug in
I’m sure it has happened to us all
It has certainly happened to me. Bought a brand new Parker 21 and as it was going off the trailer at the ramp I wondered why the bilge pump was already pumping. No damage just a little embarrassing.
Google boat ramp or boat launch failures.
It is truly sad.
But funny in some ways.
I have forgotten to pull the plug and after a good rain wonder why my tires look low.
You want to talk embarrassed. Has anyone ever put the gas nozzle in the rod holder which is right next to the gas fill opening? I had turned around to talk to someone and then realize gas is going into the haul. Red faced and PO at myself. Took awhile to rinse that out.

Ho ho ho, Some folks sit at local boat ramps on weekends to watch the nonsense! No plug twice, OK not too much water. Favorite boat ramp thing was a jet skier could wait his turn and backed his little sports car between big boats and tried to load his jet ski. Not back enough he jumped into car and backed up too much? Yea muffler in water bubbling, got jet ski loaded and tried to pull up, car just coughed and stalled for good!!! Sucked a valve or something had to call tow truck, so many of us trying to hide our laughs! Hard way to learn!

Canoes don’t have drain plugs.
My drain plug on my canoe is Turing it upside down, works great and super fast.! But that’s me and my boys.

Yep I did that. I took a some boys from a group home I was working in, 7 had to get on my knees in the water & get the plug in. We were in the middle of the river. We left a trail of water for miles after we pulled out.
Dumb me, I did that twice over the years; both the plug and gas in the rod holder.

Two years ago we put my fathers 21 ft Sea Fox in the water and my father drove it to his lagoon. I drove the trailer to the house and my wife made us all lunch. When we finished I went down to the garage and started to fill up the tubes for the kids when my wife shouted down, "hey something is wrong with the boat!" We caught it just in time, I was amazed at the amount of water we pumped out of that thing. Had to hold on while pumping it out, it wanted to roll over. Pretty sure we won't do that again.
On day a buddy of mine and I were launching my boat and I couldn't figure out why the boat wasn't floating. A lady on a passing ferry hollered over that the boat was still strapped to the trailer. Luckily there were no other witnesses but, I'll never make that mistake again.
My buddy Jim and I had run our routine of prepping the boat. He jumped in and I backed him down the ramp and in the water. Parked the car and we took off to our first spot. We were fishing and I just happened to look down in the boat and saw things floating and I shouted at Jim. We Oh Sh__, cranked the boat and headed to the ramp. I jumped on the pier as he drove by and started running to get the trailer while Jim went around in circles so the boat wouldn't sink. Got it loaded and started up the ramp to drain the boat. As punishment we missed the top water bite which they were killing it till the sun came up. At least we didn't sink.
just go drive boat wide open and the hull will drain because its above the water line then.
This happened to me also. Fishing with my buddy and son. Left the plug at home so we took his sons shirt
off and shoved it in the hole. It worked. After that I got about 10" of downrigger cable tied it to the plug and screwed it to the back of the transom problem solved.
