This is just a fun thing for people to answer but what is your personal best fish people have caught. There are so many of us from all over the place so I thought it would be fun to hear what big fish people have caught and what they used to catch it with.

For me it was a 75 lb Mako off the coast of San Diego at night. Steel leader, bloody whole body mackerel for bait. Balloon and glowstick for a bobber.

Mine is like a minnow in comparison, 16 lb. Lake Trout on a 1 ounce white hair body jig. With 8# test line on an ultralight. Spinning Rod.

Those are all great... I have never caught anything near that big. Even the 16 lb beats my biggest catch by far! I only dream of catching something that size.

4-foot Ling Cod off the rocks in Monterey Bay in 1973 or so, using 12-lb test while going after sand dabs. Don't know what it weighed, but there were two beee-yootiful fillets!

Keep fishing Aaron. You never know when it will happen. If you notice, most of these are from folks who fish big waters and quite a few salt water. You just never know when or where the big un will be. The key is to just enjoy the sport. What it does for your mind and soul. Relax and enjoy.

Thanks Graywulff! I keep telling my self that even if I only catch a 1lb bass it's still a good day and the next time could be better. My time will come when I can start fishing big water and catching those 20+ pounders. But your absolutely right, for now I am just enjoying being outside and having a line in the water.
