I want to try a drop shot rig but I don’t have any drop shot weights. I do, however have little casting sinkers. If I tie the sinker to the line with just an overhand knot will it be able to come off easily enough? Or come off too easily?

You can use what I call hollow core lead. It comes on a spool and a 1/4" diameter. Cut off the length you want and where you normally have your weight just insert line into hollow core hole till it protrudes out other end of weight and lightly crimp it. you will learn how much to crimp it and how fast you can put on another weight and if crimped correctly how easy it is to pull free saving your lure. I use this same lead set up fishing rivers for steelhead and salmon and carry a plier to cut and crimp the lead. works very well.

Dampen area sprinkle comet over it let it set 5 or 10 minutes then scrub and rinse soft scrub works same way. There is also an automotive product that you spray on mag or aluminum wheels and it is a mild acid that will brighten aluminum and remove stains. Go to a marine store bass pro shop and some one can recommend a specific product. Hook em up!!!

Returntonow.net Was reading an article about how hemp wood is stronger than oak and stumbled upon this article about Native tribe taking salmon from below Coulie Dam and transplanting them in the upper river. They are multiplying!

I read the fish went up into the San Poil river that empties into the San Poil arm of the lake. 36 redds were counted in an 8 mile stretch. the salmon that returned were chinook salmon.

Fished this for years. Number 6 bait hook 3 to 4 feet of leader to a swivel with an 1/8 ounce sinker above swivel on main line. Thread open end of half a nightcrawler on to hook shaft and turn point out. Worm will lay straight on hook and before casting the half worm inflate with a hypodermic needlw or worm blower. Cast out and move it once in awhile. this very same rig works great for trolling simply cast out back of boat and troll varying your speed and boom!!!

I would call it Ranger Rick!!! It looks like the boat that was on the show called Flipper and Ranger Rick patrolled the area with it for violators as he was a warden on the show.

I personally have landed a 20# on 8# test mono and a 28# on 10# mono. The 20# took 45 minutes in a fast Rocky stream to land and ran down 5 times. Had to coax it back up slowly. This same river would fish ten pound and could not get a bite drift fishing went to 8 pound line and fish on. The big fish on big open water and fast current 15 minute fight and finally landed 300 feet down stream. Always many factors in line and weight combos. Current speed, water clarity even where fish are holding and lure choice all matter. Some rivers are 4-6 line most are 8-10 and some tackle grabber deep fast are 12-20 pound line

I caught many river trout with small spoons dick nites, triple teasers, and bouyents. Swivel 3-4 feet above spoon if you need more depth add a split shot above swivel. cast across current or quarter cast down stream. have pole tip upstream then follow lure down with tip as it swings across current adding a few 6 inch twitchs as it swings across. key is to have lure thumping and not spinning to fast in current. If you find a pocket or hole where you can let the spoon hang and you can twitch there a few times hold on about the third twitch and boom.
