I own a 13 portabote. I take my friends out fishing and never charge because I'm going anyways. All my friends have gave money for gas or boat launches,bait .I never asked they just do it. I also go out with my brother in his boat . A 24 ft trophy. I give him money for gas and buy bait.costs me 40 to 50 bucks. Way cheaper than a party boat and it's 2 or 3 people. Nice. He always asks me to go before everyone else. Maybe cause I'm his brother or maybe cause I offer cash and bait . Either way it pays to pay.

I use a utra lite ugly stick with a penn levelwind 920 . I very old reel but so I'm I. I use my personnel poor man's downrigger that I made. I just look at the depth on my fish finder and they just count out the line , I never miss I do well and very rarely do I lose a Kokanee trout on the other hand yes I can lose trout, if I don't set the hook .the poles are exceptionally light ,I love them. I wouldn't use anything else.

I love fishing in the rain, as long as it doesn't get windy. No widow makers for me. I do my best fishing in the rain.

If your doing catching, give it up. Fishing is for peace of mind. Enjoying the outdoors and maybe bring home a fish.fishing is a relaxing therapy.fish is a bonus. I hope you find fish ,by I not , enjoy the experience. I just got back from a 4 day fishing trip with only one fish. But the relaxation and peace was great.no one caught fish, I managed one. Not disappointed. Best advice let the fish feel your not there to catch them , then maybe you'll will. Tight lines.

I love my ugly sticks my favorite is the ultra lights in the graphite form and the light the 7 ft 6 both great rods I always get the elite or the light because those seems to be a lot skinnier and have more sensitivity and sensitivity is important to me so I sometimes I buy the ultra light I've noticed I can catch 20 lb browns on it and no problems poles are indestructible I've slammed my rod and the car door and still went fishing nothing wrong with it I've never had a problem with the eyes even though I've heard people have that but then I always be when I got my new ones I always put a drop just a small drop of epoxy you know super glue in it and that stops the whole problem I also like 10 rails I have the level wines the very the old level wines and I have the 760s the 714 you know all those rods you know reels so I've had those for a long time yeah been at it for a long time so all right thank you
