How many of us carry a handgun in our tackle? Whether it’s authorized or not.

I've said on here before, I almost always open carry when I'm fishing unless I'm going somewhere where it's illegal like a private lake or national park. I do not conceal, I don't have a permit, but it's legal to open carry most places in California as long as you are going to, coming from or actively fishing. Placer County, which is where I live, the sheriff is very lenient about conceal carry permits, they're easy to get, I've just never really felt the need. Sure don't need one in my house.

I carry. Sometimes in the open and sometimes concealed. In Wyoming, if you can legally own a firearm, you can carry. Since Colorado legalized pot, the number of front range stoners coming north has increased and these people can be unpredictable.

Its part of my daily patdown..KEYS..KNIFE WALLET PISTOL.. Rather have it and God knows i hope it never has to leave my holster.. and not need it than need it and not have it..

I have a permit, but I just leave the pistol in the car. No need to have it around here, LaCrosse, WI., maybe.

I always take mine when I fish, snakes and other things around. I'm sure we can conceal carry without permit in this state

There's only two local states I can't carry in, New Jersey and Maryland, and I usually do. Licensed to carry in 37 states and most of the other states don't care about permits. Open carry is also legal here.

I don’t when I’m surf fishing but traveling around town and such with tourists everywhere I do. Some of the folks can be unpredictable with the sense of entitlement.

I do when I am grouse hunting in the woods Up North. Mostly to protect the dog, if necessary. She is 11 and I would hate to lose her to a wolf or bear having a bad day. I may when I get back to trout fishing as well.

I always carry on road trips. Came in handy on 2 separate occasions while filling up at gas stations.

Years ago I had a guy and his son as guest on my boat when the guy pulls out a gun from his waist and asked if he could lay it on my dash while we fished. It took me by surprise because in all the years of fishing, I never ever dreamed of carrying.
Now in this days I'm leaning towards carrying but a 75 I'd probably shoot myself in the foot when trying to UN-holster it. LOL

I’m sorry guys and gals, I didn’t make my question clear, crossing state lines can be tricky, state lakes and campgrounds usually say no firearms, lakes on game preserves or
Rreserves that by law say no firearms. Basically any body of water that may be posted, no firearms. Hide in tackle box?

When I drove from the east coast to MT i figured that somewhere along the line I was going to be a long way from nowhere, and I was. That trip was the first time I ever saw a sign that said 300 miles to the next fuel, so it was nice to know I had a friend in the console next to me.

Practice makes perfect. I shoot once a month when the range is open and I can draw and put a double tap into a 6 inch target in less time than it takes to say it. And I'm 75.
