One thing for sure, every human being living in the Americas is the descendant of an immigrant. Just a matter of when the immigrant arrived.

If you have a small airport around they may sell Mogas as well as Avgas . Mogas is nonalcohol . If you are going to keep it over a long period it’s good to add stabilizer to it. I use it in all my small engines.

Stenosis of the spinal canal means that the changes in the vertebrae are narrowing the space that the spinal chord runs through. It’s actually bone narrowing the space so things like manipulation, injections etc aren’t going to cure it. My mom had it and at 86 YO she had a laminectomy, removal of the dorsal part of the vertebra, and it worked very well. She was golfing around 6 weeks later. She lived till 102.

It makes me glad that I am no longer jumping smoke. Miserable work but great satisfaction when the fire is done. Good luck.

Yes, there’s no end to the number of diseases out there that extend far back in the past. We find ways to control some of them by vaccination, vector control, better treatments, better hygiene etc. but many or even most will ever be eradicated. Everyone has to be aware and do their part in this endless battle. It sucks but that’s life but it’s much improved, health wise, since I came into being in 1938. Stay safe and smart everyone because the fat lady has not even begun to sing.

Don’t forget that plague affects all sorts of animals and rats can carry it so the potential for an outbreak is always there. I actually controlled a plague outbreak in one of our mobile reaction forces in Vietnam. People were dying but we stopped the deaths immediately by a treatment program and a rat/flea eradication program and concomitant vaccination.

California is full of rodents and it has a significant rat population, both two and four legged. So you can be exposed to rat fleas in cities as well as the country side. Just remember the plague epidemic in Europe during the dark ages.

Sylvatic plague has been an issue forever. Easterners should mention that they were in the west if they feel sick.

For some of us every day is Memorial Day. We think about our time in harm’s way every day. The memories just don’t go away so you make them a part of you. You especially remember those that were seriously wounded or, worse, didn’t make it back.
