Hey guys. The last 2 posts I've made from my fishin trips I've gotten flack bout keepin fish and killin all the fish I'm throwin back. Seems like I can't win. If I keep any I'm bad. If I throw any back, they're just goin to die so I'm bad. Maybe I should just not post anything anymore and that way nobody knows what I'm doin and I don't have to be called out all the time.
I thought the theme of this site was to talk about fishin and share pics of fish caught and other nature photos.
If you can't catch fish, that's not my fault. Come look me up and I'll take you fishin. I've offered that ever since I joined this site and I've fished with 15 different members from the stage. If you ask ANY of them I really don't think they would tell you that I wasn't an ethical sportsman.
I don't take more than my limit ever. I never keep undersized OR fish I consider too big to keep.
Some of the bass I catch do not survive BUT the Eagles and Osprey usually appreciate them very much.
Stripers on the other hand are SO hardy and strong it takes a lot to kill one of them and we practice catch and release on nearly ALL of them.
Case in point. Today we caught 70+ fish in 2 hours and we kept 4. That's bout 5%. That means we released over 95% of the fish we caught today. How is that not being a sportsman?
Guess I'll just keep quiet for awhile and mind my own business.

Very true CamT. Why be on a fishing site if you don't fish or belive nobody should catch or keep fish. I guess if they are eating any type of meat be it fish beef pork or poultry is ok as long as they buy it at a store. Like the ones that condemn hunting while they eat veal n mutton. Hope they're not a liberal that belives eveyone has the right to do what they want. As long as it conforms to their beliefs. I certainly don't belive in what some do but i don't have the right to tell them they're wrong. If it's legal do what you want. Too many minding others business 👍👍

Steve, I say fish away. Release as many as you like, and eat as much as you want. Personally, I catch and release. I need as many fish in the water as possible to increase my odds of catching! Hahaha. I don’t worry for one second about the catch & eat folks. It’s there’s right. I may disagree, but I respect their individual right. I don’t imagine I will bring many of them to my side and I’m sure they feel the same. All that being said let’s FISH !!!

Apparently, whoever is criticizing you is doing it via PM, or text or phone call, because I haven’t seen it on a FS post. If you, or anyone else, posts on a public forum, whoever responds to that public post, should do it publicly as well, unless they are asked to respond privately. If the responder is not able to use appropriate language or simply does not have the guts to respond publicly, I think they should just keep it to their self.
My opinion is you should continue doing what you do, Steve, and don’t worry about someone’s bizarre opinions.

It’s no different than someone on the Stage having a different spiritual or religious belief than I have.( and I’m NOT referring to Spirit or Greg) If someone says “Heaven does not exist” or “I don’t believe in God”, that in no way alters what I say or do or believe. In fact, those things just strengthen my beliefs, because I’ve already read in the Bible that those exact things would happen to me as a Christian. So it just enforced my belief in the Bible.
How DID He know that ????

Steve, don't let simple minds drive you off of here. Their logic and "facts "don't hold water. Every state has different rules but all have minimum size regulations for many fish. If they're all gonna die, why release small ones, hmmmm? It doesn't make any sense. Keep doing what you're doing. I consider you one of the most ethical sportsman I know. Even if I am jealous.
