I dug razor clams at Long Beach Friiday through Sunday. It was tough and the clams were tiny to medium. The "shows" were hard to see.
Friday we got 30, Saturday I got 12 clams and he got 3. By Sunday he was done and I got 10.
Going back in May.
Crabbing opens July 1st for Puget Sound , at least at Whidbey Island. We use our boat and usually limit. LOTS of flounder, perch, etc.
Bapabear, I agree with you. I wasn't co.plaining but looking for recommendations on how to better navigate.
Many, many thanks to those that work hard so this forum exists.
Since the format has changed I can not access
Only Washington reports. There are 4 or 5 about Washington and then other states. Any recommendations, please
Thank you so much for the information ☺️
Nicely done! Mustand, do you mind me asking where on SouthWhidbey you recommend? Also, do you agree with the reply that said to drift yarn?
I've tried a couple of beaches with no luck.
Lovely pictures
In a boat or on the shore? Just this side of the mountains?
I have a cabin on Whidbey directly West of Hat Island. The tribes AND commercial crabbers hit it hard before our recreational season started and they haven't stopped.
There are a lot of big, healthy females and far more soft shells than I've ever seen this time of year.
Our neighbor went out on a paddle board and caught 9 keepers in 2 hours. Go figure!
We ended up with 15 over 3 days with the pots left in overnight.
Good luck.
In my opinion, it's always a good idea to stop at a local shop or two that specializes in fly fishing.
Usually, for the price of a few flies the shop will give you all kinds of information and suggestions.
When possible, if I'm fishing a new area I how a guide for the first time out.
Enjoy!
I just received an email from Washington Wildlife stating 45,000 jumbo trout will be stocked in local lakes for black Friday, November 25th.
There are links to how many trout will be placed in various lakes.
Happy Thanksgiving and happy fishing !
How is it fishing and for what please
When I pull up Fish and Wildlife it says 8-2 is closed for 2021/2022 seasons for salmon fishing.
What am I missing except. Hopefully, the chance to fish in my local waters?
Thanks in advance for any information!
