Went out today in area 8-2,just south of the ferry crossing at Mukilteo, fairly productive day, started get strikes immediately. When all was done I released two natives and as to the third which I never got to the boat,I'll let the picture say the rest.zoom in upper right corner

I’m guessing that’s a seal SA, I’ve read that they’re a real problem but had yet to see it. Thanks for the report.

Those seals can ruin your day. They probably ate the ones you released too.
Sorry that happened to you.

Dolphins do the same. If there are dolphins around you, you may just as well move.

yep my last time out in that area a seal took a fair size fish off my line for a while I had both on my line and they were pulling line off the drag until the seal got the fish off. usually they at least leave the head.

When I pull up Fish and Wildlife it says 8-2 is closed for 2021/2022 seasons for salmon fishing.
What am I missing except. Hopefully, the chance to fish in my local waters?
Thanks in advance for any information!

yes 8-2 closed on the 19 and 9 closses I believe at the end of this week. all for salmon but still can fish for most flat fish, perch etc. I don't know about area 10 which has been pretty good fishing lately. I wish they were open until mid October which would alow us to fish most of the run but it is what it is. most years the weather takes a turn end of Sept. first part of October which would prevent a lot of boats from going out anyway. 8-2 only has had part of it open the past several years I think the fishery suffered under over net fishing by commercial and tribe boats in the past and now they are trying to rebuild the runs

It’s the same story in Area 11. I really hate to see that, over and over again brother.

yea I think I am done for the season I don't want to go down to 10 so I think I'll just put my boat away for the winter and enjoy the fish I have in the freezer. best luck to you fall and winter fishermen

Ohhh! I can't stand them nasty varmints!! They have messed with me on more than one occasion. I would like to have been able to throw a little hillbilly fishing stick out there with them, if you know what I mean. Of course, that's against the law and I'm not much of a law breaker these days. But that IS what I would LIKE to do. Just sayin.
