Right now trout in the Milwaukee River coming to a end, I cought 13 this spring, all browns not one Rainbow, I turned my attention to smallies, one so far, the bit been slow due to the weather, today the 20th and they are talking snow flurries, I fish the river were the old North Ave dam use to be, a good spot to fish is by the marina boat launch, the government pier is right there, it a long L, at the end it's 30 feet deep, it called the gap, behind the Summerfest grounds is a good spot, to find out what's happening just talk with other fishermen, if you feel like it, you can fish your way south from there, the red lighthouse to Discovery world, two big basins, try under the foot bridge, there you go, good luck and tight lines

You could fish from the pier by the oak Creek power plant, but you would spill your beer when you get a fish on. Lol

Hi Kathy, I'm Dave. I live in Milwaukee and now days do most of my fishing from the shore along the lake and the Milwaukee river. Salmon are running right now, I've got two over 15lb. This is hard to explain because I fish different in all the places I fish. But the one bait that's works well are Spawn sac's. North East were your at, the fishing is ten times better than the shore line of Milwaukee. Any were around Green Bay is world class fishing, from musky, walleye, Pike, small mouth, go online to your local DNR. When you find a place to fish near you, stop at a bait shop and I'm sure they will help you with the information you need
.l hope l was some help,. Good luck

This type of tight line fishing, you stand the bottle up about a foot from your rod after you cast out, lay the rod down, with the bail open take the line over and on the bottle, when the fish takes the bait the bottle tips over letting you know fish on. Reel in slack and set the hook

Those are all great ideas for walleye's. But, stop at the local bait shop and I'm sure they will help you out and let you know what the hot bait is. Have fun and good luck.

Kathy, their also a problem in lake Michigan, they move into the river systems from there, but their also a good bait fish for walleye's and smallies. A brown Mr twister is a good bait, but in some places like you mentioned there's just too many. Use small lures and spinners and you have better luck
