As someone who lives in Florida and hasn't been fishing in a long time but just got a setup for myself for Christmas this makes me happy, can't wait until I finally have the time to go out.

North eastern USA, you got the great lakes, muskey, pike. Bass, walleye, in abundance. Less populatednareas so not as much overfishing. And beautiful scenery.

Oh wow as a New Yorker I’d definitely disagree. WAY too much private water or restricted access to reservoirs, etc. Too regulated.

Dunno about the best, but I love the eastern Sierra mountains. Anywhere from Bishop to Bridgeport, lots of lakes, rivers and streams to drive too and hike or pack in.

Ive been going up there my entire life, still have hundreds of spots I haven't been too.

I just recently found a lake a day trip in called dingleberry lake. How that has snuck past me is beyond belief. Im planning a 3 day trip to get there and 4 other local lakes.

California. You have an abundance of nearshore species within 100-200y of shore, bluewater and tropical fish in the south. Lakes and river fishing inland. Whatever you want, it's there. Any diver will tell you that the sheer volume of fish from Central CA and north is astounding.

I don’t see how you can argue against the land of 10,000 lakes.

It honestly depends what you want to catch. If you're after trout/salmon, the northwestern US is your best bet. Like pike/muskie/lake trout? You'll want the midwest and northeast. Wanna catch ocean fish? All of the coastal US states are great. You like bass? Down south is your best bet

It all depends on the fish you are targeting.
