Smallies on the canal.
Nice catch. I live in Fairport NY and they call the Erie Canal the Barge Canal. It's kinda confusing? Anyway I just bought a Kayak and I have a Pelican Canoe for sale if anyones interested? I'm a solo fisherman and a senior so I just could not handle it on my own. I'm asking $550.00. if anyone is interested. It's a GREAT Canoe but it's just too big for one paddler.

I live in Fairport New York 14450, Any Anglers know of some fishing spots near me? I'm getting tired of fishing the Erie "Barge" canal. Any and all comments are welcome. I'm 65, retired and bored out of my mind.

As soon as I launched, I figured I'd hit the 3 main trees on the way out of the creek. Zero, Zip, Nada, not even a nibble from panfish. Heavy gear, light gear, finesse gear, nothing. Holly Molly! Thank you for the heads up! I always have my fishing license renewed On-Time. From this post I decided to check my expiration date... OOOooops it expired April 31st. I immediately went on the NYS license renewal website Paid the $25.00 and I'm a legal Alien heeheehee. Seriously THNK YOU for the reminder. I usually fish April 1st for trout but, this ole man couldn't handle the cold temps this year. I'm good to go now and I'll post my first catch of the day when I finally get out this year 2022!
