First time, first fish, 8.64 lbs PB!!!

My son and I launched yesterday out of Paradise Point on the CA Delta. First time I've ever fished the Delta back waters with my boat. I threw a Zoom Super Fluke in Sexy Shad color on a weighted hook up into the tiles and BAM. FISH ON! NO, BIG FISH ON! The fight was epic as the fish basically did whatever it wanted. A roll on the surface and not white! My son and I are yelling Not a Striper over and over. When I finally get it next to the boat it goes under it and wraps around the trolling motor. I think I am done but the 20lb P Line TCB Braid wins the day as my son scoops her up the net. We weighed it and took pics to share with everyone. The rest of the day was great. I caught over a dozen LM's, a few short Stripers and a huge blue gill. Fun Fun Fun!

Great trip Steve, even if the PB was a Carp. I've yet to catch one, but will try eventually. Sounds like a great time, for you and your son. Thanks for the story and pictures.

Fred...that Carp fought like Ali but broke my heart at the net. I just knew it was the bass of a life time. On a super fluke! My son busted my walnuts all day!

Oh that's just great Jhead. Kick a guy when he's down! Lol. Let's revisit the issue again in September. Seems like I'm always winning that time of year. Either my Giants are on their way to a title or watch the Dodgers spend hundreds of millions of dollars and not win... both are enjoyable!
