Best Eating fresh water fish.

A lot depends on the water they came out of. I've had LMBs that were really muddy or grassy tasting but the bass in the lake I've been fishing the last few years are outstanding. A guide I talk with says "that people only eat bass because they can't catch walleyes" Ha!

In Wisconsin the Door County fish boil( Google it) is the Midwest's version of the classic crab boil, featuring boiled whitefish, corn on the cob and potatoes in a large pot of salted water. The Door County fish boil is known far and wide as a dish, a destination, and an event.

Also adding fish and some frozen corn to packaged soup like the BEAR CREEK creamy potato or creamy wild rice is an easy to make outstanding fish chowder.

Fishing head lamp

Check the NEBO brand, they are big in the hitech-camping-hiking world. Models with red, green and 2 brightness of white. Charge like a cell phone and can be either headband or hat clip.

Fred was absolutely right about red and green giving you the light to move in the dark without ruining your vision.(like getting to my deer stand in the dark)

Battery headlamps are heavy and clunky.

I respectfully disagree with the idea of having several inexpensive ones. Get one that you like and does the job.

Try casting to/under the dock from the shore, before walking out on it. Senkos or gulp General /powerbait in green pumpkin. Fish very slow unless it's weedy then reel-pause reel to keep it moving over the tops
