I’m new to fishing, two seasons. With the days getting shorter, I notices a few angler’s with head lamps.
Can someone give me direction on the best type to purchase.

Thanks
George

There are all different grades of them. Rechargeable battery types or just AAA batteries. The sky is the limit. I have all different types. I have found the inexpensive with disposable AA or AAA are best bet. Chuck em and get another or have spares if the wear out

I just saw an ad for one that uses led built into a headband. Very light weight.

I would try to get the ones with the highest lumens. The higher the lumens the more light they give out. I always look for this as my eyesight is not as good as it used to be

I picked one out on Amazon. Just type in flash light for ball cap. I got the rechargeable ones. No batteries needed.

One thing I would recommend George, either with the headband type or the hat mount, is get one that has a choice of Red and White light. White light is good when you're not actually fishing, but it ruins your night vision. You can only see what's illuminated by the light. Red light doesn't affect your night vision, so you can still see farther around you, once your eyes adjust to the dark.

I bought a baseball hat at Basspro Shop with a light built into the brim. It was several years ago but you could check their web site. Still works with AAA batteries and is at least 10 years old.
