I grew up on East Harbor but never ice fished. My uncle ran a charter out of there called Reef Snooper and rented 2 cottages that he still owns and a dock just west of Sandy Shores. 1st dock outside of their breakwall. My parents own a place in Sandy Shores. Caught some of my best crappie in the harbor. An occasional northern as well.

I would have to say that's just not true. The fish they stock may not spawn successfully because of the habitat they are released in or they aren't native but I can't see them being sterilized. They do release native fish that already successfully spawn to boost the numbers and the stocked fish do spawn successfully. Even some non native like steelhead here in my state.

As I was talking to a friend who is an experienced angler I showed him a picture of a lmb I caught and told him how I cooked it up. totally legal where I live as long as they're a certain length. he couldn't understand why I would ever do that. I cook the catfish pan fish trout and bass that I catch. curious on your opinions on eating bass.

If it's legal and you want to keep it then your in your right. My rule of thumb is never keep more than you can use or a meal. I may have 2 or 3 meals in the freezer. I generally catch and release but i will keep a meal of crappie or walleye on occasion. I never keep bass but thats just me. Largemouth seem to be on that list of fish that it's taboo to keep . No different than any other species. As long as you use your head and follow the laws I don't think keeping one every now and them will hurt. May even help certain lakes.

When I am crappie fishing and mark fish under the boat I will cast my jig away and let it swing to the boat in the strike zone. Better presentation and you cover more water. Also the knew 360 models pin point fish and structure all around your boat.

I'm in ohio and we have both pickerel and pike. We have chain and grass pickerel. Same family just a different species of pike. Pickerel are found in Southern waters as well where you don't find pike.

Gar are very tough fish. I've caught them with healed over wounds from a bowfishermans arrow that went all the way through.

I'm sure it would definitely protect and prevent sun damage if it adhered and lasted but I'm sure it won't. Not many paints will stick to the plastic they use for yaks
