Nice bass, never fished Folsom much but I always did pretty good at Pardee for Kokanee. You would do a lot less work if you had a fish finder. That way you could paddle until you found a school, then jig for kok's. Kok's a Pardee should be in the 20 to 30 foot range so if you put out a small half/half dodger with a Kokanee lure tipped with white shoe peg corn. Trolling speed should be around 1-1.4 mph. If you want to give Pardee at try, let me know and I can give you more precise info.
Good luck.

Hi Bunker, I'm also a Koknut. I haven't been out yet this year (to many honey do's) but I'm looking forward to getting into some silver bullets. What's the water level like at lucky peak? One of these days I'd like to get over to Flaming Gorge for a few days. Last year I hit up Wallowa in Oregon and did pretty decent. Anyway good luck and keep us posted if you get on the fish.

Hey Woodguru, I've fished LBR quite a bit in the past. Mainly for Kokanee, so if that's something you would like to try, hit me up and I can get you started in the right direction. Congrats on the new boat.

Haven't heard anything yet but then again I usually pay more attention to the Kokanee reports. If you do hear something let me know, the wife has been bugging me to take her for some crappie.

Amador has cutbow Trout and they stay pretty close to the top, no downriggers needed. Try small half/half dodger w/worm trailer. You may have to go back 30'-50' +- until you find fish. I used to also use a ultra light setup with a small Rapala w/worm trailer and have a blast catching fish that way. Bring different color dodgers ie, all gold, all chrome, half/half. You may also have to adjust the worm trailer line length if they short hit your worm. Oh, make sure you thread the worm on the hook. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I'd like to here more about your Flaming Gorge trip. I've been wanting to get over there for kok's for some time. I'm hoping maybe late spring this year. Good luck at Cascade.

I used to launch out of Pittsburgh and run up into Montezuma slough. I did pretty good on sturgeon in Nurse slough. Stripers I would troll a broken back with a hoocie.

I have fish that lake quite a bit with my father but it's been awhile since I've been there. The Trout are cutbows (cutthroat/rainbow cross) they are usually up close to the surface. My favorite setup was a small half/half dodger with a threaded worm trailer. If you use ultra light gear be ready for a fight as the fish are usually on the big side ( 2 to 3lbs ). Don't be afraid to change things up if they aren't bitting, to a small Rapala or different dodger. Just drop your bait straight out behind the boat slowly. I used to point my rod out the back and then slowly move it towards the front of the boat while letting out line. Do this about ten times or so, you may need to do more or less to find the sweet spot.
Good luck, if you have anymore questions let me know.
The Mad Moose.

I'm a kind of research first kind of guy, so I guess that makes me the Watch and see guy. But if I don't like what I see, I just make it happen the way I like it.👍

Look at the Amp Hours of the battery and try to match it too your trolling motor amp draw for the time you plan to be on the water. Just be aware, usually the more Amp hours the battery has the more you're going to have to pay. Then there is the AGM, lead cell and Lithium choice as well.

I've found lots of lures over the years and none of them had a fish attached to them. Usually the hook will enlarge the hole in the mouth and come out by itself or the hook rots away and falls out. I can honestly say, I've never found a dead fish with a hook or lure deep in its mouth, or a live one for that matter.

Usually it's because the excitement of seeing the explosion on top that you just react too quickly setting the hook.
I used to fish a lot of ponds as a kid and catch crickets, grasshoppers and small frogs for bass. Most of the time I would get bite as soon as the bait hit the water, then jerk really fast, resulting in a big swing and a miss. As the bait became more scarce, I learned to be more patient. I didn't wait as long as FS does but I would say "one, onethousand" and lit it rip.

For simplicity and cost I pack Frog Toggs with rain jacket and pants all fit into a very small bag fits into your backpack easily. They are lightweight, cheap and durable and come in various colors if you need to be visible for emergencies. Fits over your current heavy jacket and pants if it rains suddenly so no need to take off your current clothes if it is cold.

I second that on the Frog Toggs, I use them for fishing as well as hunting.

I don't know what's up (at Clear Lake) there anymore, it's been a long time since I've been there. Have you tried Indian Valley lake? That's another place my dad and I would hit up for crappies.
